Spotted flycatcher at a new location, Another pair found and not on the reserve. If there are two pair on the reserve we now have three local pairs. Watched them for a while and it looks like they are making a nest

If a storm rolls through with enough time to clear out just before sunset, the light against Chicago's skyline gets wonderful and weird. Lots of purples and a softness not as often seen - especially in the reflected light.

Shooting east on the western edge of The Loop really highlights this.

What do I do when there's too much of me, too little of you?

What can I say when I know you're not here to stay?

I can't explain something I don't understand.

Why did I let this get out of hand?

Maybe I'll get you out of my head

Maybe I'll forget all the things you said

Lies on your lips, but there's love in your eyes

Maybe I'll forget you some other time

Why do I let you cross the line every time?

Why do I stay if I know you're not mine?

Ride on your skin, I know that love used to glow

How can I let you go if I know I'm so close?

Maybe I'll get you out of my head

Maybe I'll forget all the things you said

Lies on your lips, but there's love in your eyes

Maybe I'll forget you some other time

Last moments of sun from Morton Overlook in the Smokies from last month...

... maybe if you squint at it.

Processed with my new favorite these days, Pioneer Woman's 'seventies' action.

Selfportrait.

I have so many versions of these two shots, and I'm still not sure if I uploaded the right ones! Maybe I'll upload some other in time..

Seems as if most people have decided that this bird is an Eurasian Wigeon x, but nevertheless it is beautiful and the first Eurasian Wigeon that I recall seeing

Hey guys! At the current moment I'm making GotG customs and the first one I made is Gamora, daughter of the Mad Titan, Thanos. I painted the hair I used for Elektra and made her a coat-jacket. I used E-tape for the bracelets. I'm making Mantis right now. Maybe I'll finish her tomorrow. What do you guys think? Comment below! :)

So sad today I really wrong at all...

Maybe, I still love you so much ...

Maybe, I am still feeling that you did for me ...

“Maybe there's nothing impossible tonight. We're down the hole to Wonderland, and no White Rabbit to guide us."

If I remember correctly, the White Rabbit was an unreliable guide, anyway.”

Behind the camera:

The Chiefs ended up losing in what really wasn't even a close game. They had a great comeback season and I'm hopeful for a better 2016. I've been a season ticket holder for over 20 years.

Today we received about an inch of snow. Ugh. Maybe I can get some images today.

Maybe in a few years, these young Stags will have what it takes, to mess with the big boys. For now though, best stick with play fighting.

Ok, maybe not a thousand, but the Goose Lake Railroad runs in some of the most isolated regions of California and Oregon. The former SP Lakeview Branch runs from Alturas, CA to Lakeview OR, branching off the famous Modoc Line. Due to few industries on the line resulting in low income, this branch has seen several railroads running this track over the years, but Goose Lake seems to be doing fine as Lakeview gains more traffic and customers. Seen here, a northbound brings somewhere around twenty or thirty cars toward Lakeview at Surprise Station.

I think that this is some type of Roach. I found it hiding under a rock in Maryland.

The soft pink plumage on these galahs glowed in the early morning sunshine just after sunrise. These were just three out of maybe a hundred that were in the gum trees above my head! They were out-numbered by the hundreds of little Corellas in the surrounding trees, and all were contributing to the amazing dawn chorus!

An unconfirmed iNaturalist ID, but likely a new bee species for my prairie bee and wasp species set. The common name is hostile leaf-cutter bee.

This weeks Saturday Night Special was shot on July 1, 1984 by Keith Ardinger. It's obviously UP 6910 and as usual its leading a hot train of what appears to be UPS trailers in what I'd guess in the PNW as no location is on the slide. You haven't really lived if you never witness these magnificent units in action. They used to put on one hell of a show. Chuck Schwesinger collection.
