Now, I am not a blogger for this very talented lady but let's face it there are very few that can pull off the gowns she creates. Some things have changed in Second Life and we do not wear these types of apparel much anymore. I hope this is a revival of all that is fun and glamorous in our Second Life. Heaven knows we all need a touch of sparkle in our lives right now.

Maybe the third or fourth most common bird here... unlike the other commons, this one is entertaining and I think its reputation as an intelligent bird is well earned also. It's a great photo subject and will hop up into a tree for you for two or three Jordanian Dinars; very cooperative...
On Friday, there were eight or these sort of guarding this puddle, say 90 meters from a leaking irrigation pipeline and they seemed to be protective of the area holding two Bluethroats, two Robins, three Prinia and a pair of Chiffchaffs away... fun watching... could have been two or three Dead Sea Sparrows here also but I only saw enough of them to say they were sparrows... I was also hoping for some Linnets but they never showed up...

At my visit of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory I accidently opened the wrong door and discovered the secret of organic chocolate beans production. The production worker didn't seem thrilled.

In between the comings and goings of ducks on the pond, if I can hear gobbling in the area, I will use my hen call to see if I can entice a tom to come to the pond. This from the confines of my floating blind on the pond. I managed to call this guy in twice. The first time (this photo) when he came into view and did not see a hen where there was supposed to be one, he turned and walked off. After a bit, I used a gobble call along with the hen call and that brought him back the second time. He was not going to let another tom in on any possible hen action.
To climb a mountain seeing black clouds bringing the storm, is a feeling of adrenaline and fear, but a fear that makes us want to be there.

Maybe not the most glamorous of butterflies and certainly when both eyespots are hidden the grey, brown and black marbled underwings of this skulking species render it so well camouflaged that it is exceedingly difficult to even spot or photograph. After spending some considerable time watching this one creep through the New Forest heathland grasses and debris late afternoon I was delighted to see it make its way towards the Ling Heather upon which it nectared.
