Maya feeds and takes care of many strays in her neighbourhood. She told me that the younger, female cat had just had surgery and the male cat kept jumping on her. Maya was concerned that the stitches might rip open and the cat might get hurt.

Ceramic figurines such as this one record the elaborate and burdensome regalia of Maya rulers. The belt ornament in the shape of a head with three celts is similar to the set of plaques on view here. Maya blue pigment—a combination of indigo and palygorskite, a type of clay—covers the figurine, evoking the green of the quetzal feathers in the headdress and of the jade pectorals, earrings, and belt ornaments. Holding a shield in his left hand, this ruler may be celebrating a military victory or reenacting a triumph.
Haven't much felt like uploading my pics in flickr because of all the recent "photo theft" things. There are some people using Maya's pic as their profile pic on facebook which really doesn't make me happy. :<
So sad because I really love this flickr community and have met the most amazing people here. But because of some ignorant people, or people who just don't care, I have thought even quitting posting my pics here and hiding the old ones...
