Drone photos I captured of the recent eruption of Fagradalsfjall in Southern Iceland
August 4th | 2022 | Fagradalsfjall | Iceland
The eruption was unique among the volcanoes monitored in Iceland so far and is expected to develop into a shield volcano.Due to its relative ease of access from Reykjavík, the volcano has become an attraction for local people and foreign tourists. Another eruption, very similar to the 2021 eruption, began on 3 August 2022 and is currently ongoing.

I was asked to take an environmental portrait session of a university founded PHD graduation project, in which he studied different growing methods for hemp. No worries, the pictured hemp contains only a very small amount of THC. Nonetheless, this amount was enough to made my head spin after 3 hours photographing. =D

An architectural series shot for the Meistersingerhalle in Nürnberg, the city in which I started my photography business. It is really nice returning to this city with another cool location to shoot.

An architectural series of an anthroposophic building in Dornach, Switzerland.
The Goetheanum is the world center for the anthroposophical movement.
The building was designed by Rudolf Steiner and named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It includes two performance halls (1500 seats), gallery and lecture spaces, a library, a bookstore, and administrative spaces for the Anthroposophical Society; neighboring buildings house the society's research and educational facilities. Conferences focusing on themes of general interest or directed toward teachers, farmers, doctors, therapists, and other professionals are held at the center throughout the year.
Both the present Goetheanum building and its precursor have been widely cited as masterpieces of modern architecture.
Steiner's architecture is characterized by a liberation from traditional architectural constraints, especially through the departure from the right-angle as a basis for the building plan. For the first Goetheanum he achieved this in wood by employing boat builders to construct its rounded forms; for the second Goetheanum by using concrete to achieve sculptural shapes on an architectural scale. The use of concrete to achieve organically expressive forms was an innovation for the times; in both buildings, Steiner sought to create forms that were spiritually expressive.

The Catholic parish church of the Resurrection of Christ was built between 1964 and 1970 according to plans by the architect Gottfried Böhm in the Lindenthal district of Cologne. The two architects Wilhelm Jungherz and Klaus Micheel were also involved in the design.
The church building illustrates to a large extent the idea of architecture as sculpture.
The church is excellently integrated into the urban planning. It serves as a vanishing point for the Lindenthal Canal, which is lined with avenues. At the end of the canal, wide staircases form squares, which are bordered on the sides by community buildings. Finally, the church rises together with the parish tower.
The staggered height development with projections and recesses and beveled edges creates a sculptural character. At the north-west corner, the open spiral staircase emphasizes the tower. The plastic effect is reinforced by the calculated use of the material colors, the change from reddish brickwork to light exposed concrete surfaces.
The floor plan is asymmetrical and polygonal. The angles and niches resulting from this in the outline are assigned liturgical tasks. Together with the different room heights and the reduced incidence of light, the room is given liveliness. The building appears as a walk-in sculpture. The windows, also designed by Böhm, are predominantly red-glazed. Together with the reddish masonry, they reinforce the cave-like atmosphere.

This year, we really had a golden autumn in Stuttgart with nice sunny warm days. To spend some time outside, I asked my girlfriend (who is not a professional model) to take some photos. That way, we can spend time outside and I get to take some new sports photos.
