Although it is one of the later completed buildings in the Düsseldorf port, the new customs yard (Gehry buildings) with its extroverted design is a highly symbolic building for the structural transition from the old customs port to the media harbour.
Located on the northern edge of the harbor, the building ensemble, designed by the famous American architect Frank O. Gehry, acts as a link to the city.
The building volume is divided into three sculptural structures that form a trinity in their expressive form, but differ greatly in their execution.

Yesterday, I took out my new DJI for a test flight. I previously scouted the location during my race bike training. It's probably the largest and most beautiful vineyard in the area.
This shot is an HDR taken directly into the sun light, which was blocked and softened through autumnal fog. The photo was taken in Weinstadt, Germany.

An architectural series of an anthroposophic building in Dornach, Switzerland.
The Goetheanum is the world center for the anthroposophical movement.
The building was designed by Rudolf Steiner and named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It includes two performance halls (1500 seats), gallery and lecture spaces, a library, a bookstore, and administrative spaces for the Anthroposophical Society; neighboring buildings house the society's research and educational facilities. Conferences focusing on themes of general interest or directed toward teachers, farmers, doctors, therapists, and other professionals are held at the center throughout the year.
Both the present Goetheanum building and its precursor have been widely cited as masterpieces of modern architecture.
Steiner's architecture is characterized by a liberation from traditional architectural constraints, especially through the departure from the right-angle as a basis for the building plan. For the first Goetheanum he achieved this in wood by employing boat builders to construct its rounded forms; for the second Goetheanum by using concrete to achieve sculptural shapes on an architectural scale. The use of concrete to achieve organically expressive forms was an innovation for the times; in both buildings, Steiner sought to create forms that were spiritually expressive.

We planned this trip already a few months in advance in order to get a reservation for our cabin where we stayed overnight. For the last weeks, a heat wave ravaged the country. That suddenly stopped the moment we started our hike. But that's how it is. We didn't get those dreamy sunny sceneries, but looking up from the bottom to the mountain is even more spectacular in rain than in sunshine, as the clouds cover the mountain partially, creatinga re al mystic mood. On the top, I would have been able to live without the mystery factor though. But as usual, you can't have it all. 😉

Ballet and architecture have one thing in common: The right attitude posture is important. With this building concept, the Munich architects Burger Rudcas won the competition for the new building of the renowned ballet school John-Cranko in Stuttgart.
The jury particularly appreciated the successful examination of the property's hillside and the high quality, variety and separation of functional areas. Following the urban development strategy, the building can be accessed from two sides - and thus gained two new addresses: The ballet school with boarding school on the top of Werastraße, the rehearsal stage below on Urbanplatz.
The building complex encompasses a wide variety of uses, from the large rehearsal hall to eight smaller dance halls and adjoining boarding rooms for 75 ballet students. Burger Rudacs stagger four other building segments on top of the rehearsal stage, each 18 meters deep and parallel to the slope up to the entrance level on Werastraße. Each of these one-story segments houses a large and a small ballet hall.
For the facade, Burger Rudacs decided for double-shell exposed concrete walls with a lying board structure. The material should underline the clarity of the structure and strengthen the public character of the school.
