In a computer generated illustration supplied by the American Institute of Mathematics, the E8 root system related to the Lie group E8, which is 248 dimensions, is seen. A math problem so complicated that its solution would cover the island of Manhattan if written out was cracked by researchers after going unsolved for more than a century. The 18-member team of mathematicians and computer scientists convened by the American Institute of Mathematics in Palo Alto, Calif., took four years to map a 248-dimensional object known as the "Lie group E8." If you were to list all of your responsibilities you might just never finish it. As I pondered over the theme this week, I kept getting four reoccurring subjects. My son is enjoying his first year of college, that's T's College folder. My love of photography is also the 2nd folder, Sassy Shutter. Life, basically all of it; from relationships to bills. Then the rest of the books are based on my profession: teaching. I teach honors algebra & intensive math to middle schoolers. Yes, there are special breeds of teachers out there who love the middle years! My responsibility at school is a huge part of my existence. Oh and I took this with my new Nikon 50mm 1.8f lens!! I'm so excited to play!!

Hated Maths...never good at the tables, have never in all my years learned the multiplication tables...to this day...to make matters worse, this is exactly how my Maths Teacher looked...really ! He was grim looking, never smiled and thought I was the worst student he ever had (Might have been too !)...I wore a PATH up to his desk and in the end he taught me to hate a subject I only mildly disliked up till then...so here is to you, may you rest in peace...hope you learned to smile.
