at the point where resistance is overcome. No human masterpiece has ever been created without great labor.”

Military architecture (Romanic style 12th Century)

Melgaço, northern Portugal

..................................................................................................

The tower construction began in 1170 under the order of D. Afonso Henriques – the first King of Portugal – who also issued a charter with laws, privileges and obligations for Melgaço, creating the municipality.

The tower has a quadrangular shape isolated in the middle of a wall circle. The walls have two doors and are reinforced with three smaller towers with prismatic battlements.

In the XVII century, with the developments in artillery, some adaptations were made with the construction of bastion lines around the medieval area.

Nowadays the interior of the Tower is a museum

--------.

Since you all seem to enjoy my sunset/rise photos, here's one more: the king of them all. It's amazing what you can find tucked away in a large file. I am quite pleased with the colors in this one.

I´m very proud that this photo was chosed by very talented Violaliena as a cover art for her amazing and wonderful fairy tale.

She is participating in a literary contest and made it to the semifinals. Congratulation! The theme of her story is: ”Prince Charming doesn’t exist”. (Il Principe Azzurro non esiste)

We all like to reflect. 2017 is a year to definitely reflect on. This image captures silence, peace and a reflection of its own self. We take many things for granted but most importantly we never appreciate what we’ve personally achieved enough. Always waiting for someone else’s approval. If you feel you’ve done the best you can for yourself or others then pat yourself on the back and be proud of your achievements. Be humble in defeat and respectful in glory. I hope your 2017 was as good as you could have imagined.

Thanks Mandy, ( Mimi ) and Chris.

We will have a beautiful quilt for it when put together

Being more of a Marvel Comics continuity fan, than an animated series fan, Ratchet is one of my favorite characters and the worst G1 figure. It’s nice to see Ratchet get the 5 star treatment. 🍻

The Sagrada Família - what a masterpiece designed by Gaudí! Incredibly fascinating because of its size, organic shapes and lines, and the attention to details.

I'm back from the Tour Auto Optic 2000 and two days in Monaco, and had the awesome opportunity to spot a marvellous Koenigsegg One:1 in the wild. I'm still shocked of seeing it !
