Als Meisterwerk des Rokoko ist Schloss Augustusburg in Brühl unmittelbar mit der Geschichte der großen europäischen Architektur in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts verbunden. Kurfürst Clemens August beauftragte 1725 den westfälischen Architekten Johann Konrad Schlaun, auf den Fundamenten einer mittelalterlichen Burg ein Residenzschloss zu errichten. Kernstück von Schloss Augustusburg ist das beeindruckende Treppenhaus Balthasar Neumanns, das sich im Mittelflügel befindet. Als die ersten bedeutenden Schöpfungen des Rokokostils in Deutschland wurden die Schlösser Augustusburg und Falkenlust 1984 in die UNESCO-Welterbeliste aufgenommen.
As a Rococo masterpiece, Augustusburg Palace in Brühl is directly linked to the history of great European architecture in the first half of the 18th century. In 1725 Elector Clemens August commissioned the Westphalian architect Johann Konrad Schlaun to build a residential palace on the foundations of a medieval castle. The centerpiece of Augustusburg Palace is the impressive staircase by Balthasar Neumann, which is located in the middle wing. The Augustusburg and Falkenlust palaces were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984 as the first significant creations of the Rococo style in Germany.

Golden hues, a masterpiece in whole,
Painted skies, a tranquil, fiery scroll.
Nature’s brushstroke, vivid and untold,
A fleeting wonder, a treasure of gold.
The sun sinks low, its journey near done,
Casting its glow on everyone.
Shadows lengthen, they softly creep,
As twilight lulls the world to sleep.
Mountains bask in the amber light,
Fields are kissed by the glow of night.
Rivers shimmer, their currents ablaze,
Reflecting the heavens in a fiery haze.
The trees stand still, their silhouettes clear,
Bathed in warmth as the end draws near.
Birdsong fades, replaced by calm,
A hush that feels like nature's psalm.
Golden hour, brief and rare,
A sacred gift for those who care.
To pause, to watch, to truly see,
The magic of life, so wild and free.
And as the sun slips out of view,
Night emerges, cloaked in dew.
But the memory lingers, the moment stays,
A radiant echo of golden days.

My husband rescued Phoebe in the village, from a tree, under was sitting the dog that had been following her. He brought her home a few days after my ankle accident, when I was still in bed, unable to walk. She was small and skinny, but not scared at all, she was home from the first moment and everyone loves her very much.
My first thought was that, yes, she is the cat that will survive me.
