We just had a professional photoshoot the other day and man did I get my ass kicked. I mean, literally. Literally, photography kicked the living shit out of me. It mad me really think about where I really stand- From the enthusiast\home\amateur photographer transitioning to pro. It's almost a year now since I've picked up a camera- coming from tin foil pans and cookie sheet soft boxes, ping pong ball diffusers; armed with a portfolio of shots around the house and unsuspecting subjects within it and a versatile csc camera that has its blaring limitations- I was disillusioned that I could jump right into a scenario that would include directing 18 teenagers, a camera I'm unfamiliar with, and battling the harsh California sun and come up with phenomenal shots. Boy was I F*CKING WRONG. If it wasn't for this mutha' mo' fo' depicted above, I wouldn't have walked away with a couple bruised shins, near death dehydration and a damaged ego- I would've been completely and utterly F*CKED. This man has single handedly saved our asses and made it a success. Although I still second guess myself as a photographer, this guy has made me face short comings yet also reveal my strengths- In my book -he's nothing short of a "hero."

Mastermind

Camera 3

Philips LDK5 camera on Vinten Kestrel mounting

Location Firth Hall, University of Sheffield

Date 21st February 1990

Team-Manager Hans Meyer, Assistant Jürgen Raab and Manager Martin Bader, the Masterminds behind the success.

TIGER, tiger, burning bright

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?

On what wings dare he aspire?

What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art

Could twist the sinews of thy heart?

And when thy heart began to beat,

What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?

In what furnace was thy brain?

What the anvil? What dread grasp

Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,

And water'd heaven with their tears,

Did He smile His work to see?

Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Taken for Masterminds [Week 83]

Theme: Animals of SL

As the tiger has a script to follow my moves everywhere and woudnt stand still , I felt like I was really trying to shot a real animal...or a child ;)

So I had to settle for the pose I got before he got too irritated. Ill try better ways to photograph it later and will come with more pictures as soon as he becomes a bit more...domesticated.

The tiger also came with a horrible colar with a name of its ...creator?store?...on it. Thats a crime, who would dare to put a colar in a tiger? I could not remove it inworld and set the poor kitty free beacuse it was no mod, so I had two options: erase the name on the colar and replace it with mine...not a so bad idea...or totally remove it on photoshot. As a true admirer of wild life I sticked to the second choice.

Kaon is a member of the Decepticon Justice Division (DJD) from the Transformers comics. This figure was made by the third-party toymaker, Mastermind Creations. He is officially called Anarchus (R-16) and is part of their reformatted line.

My version of Mastermind (and my first MOC with my NXT). When you have placed the balls just press the button on the front. Then the NXT scans all the colors and show you if you are right. If you have all four colours right the NXT show you how many tries you needed.

Blogged in The Woodwork: Starbucks Mastermind.

A game they should invent. I’d buy it just for the game pieces.

Just so you know, the answer is a triple grande non-fat no-whip six-pump white mocha.

FYI, I stole Justine’s face from this photo (my only photos of her are B&W), I got the game box from here and the logo from here. Finished with ComicLife. :-)

Playing Erin's "Super Mastermind", a very good game. Jen cannot see the colour combination that the master sets. She then trys to figure out the combination. The black and white pegs are used to indicate to the player if they have the right colour or have the right colour in the right place.

Jen eventually won this round. Erin won a round too.

It was a fun way to spend a stormy evening.
