Life can feel like a prison sometimes. You try and try to break the lock, and when you do, you realize it wasn't actually locking anything. You're still trapped behind the fence.
The hitch on my old trailer that I've had since 1995. It needs new wiring for the lights and maybe a coupe of new tires but like a lot of things, none of that will get fixed till something breaks or goes flat.
Some sweethearts placed a "Love Lock" on the fence near Long Wharf in Portland, Maine. They wrote, "We'll always remember our time in Maine." And it's likely they followed tradition by throwing away the key to symbolize their unbreakable love. Gosh, I should've added a "Dan Loves Amy" lock to the fence. Guess, I wasn't thinking.
Day 235:
For the past couple of days on the way home from work. We’ve walked through the
alley on the way to The Ocho and there’s a small overflow parking lot for the dentist’s
office that’s on the corner. Well the parking lot is changed up on nights and weekends so nobody parks in the lot and I kept looking at the rusty old chain and knew that I
wanted to do a photo with the gummies there. So today I decided to take Betsy and
the gummies down there for a quick photo. I let them crawl around for a little while, but
that might have been a mistake as they are covered in rust dust.
Just one of the many love locks attached to the fence on the Van Buren Street footbridge that crosses the Clark Fork River. The bridge is located north of The University of Montana near downtown Missoula, MT.
no effect on the windows, they are just dirty, fogged and old. taken from the inside of an old greenhouse
Not sure if it was designed to be used as a bike lock or not, and I actually don't see any bike using it ever. But it's a creative way to secure your bike, no?

A love lock or love padlock is a padlock which sweethearts lock to a bridge, fence, gate, monument or similar public fixture to symbolize their love. Typically the sweethearts' names or initials are inscribed on the padlock, and its key is thrown away to symbolize unbreakable love.
Since the 2000s, love locks have proliferated at an increasing number of locations worldwide. They are now mostly treated by municipal authorities as litter or vandalism, and there is some cost to their removal. However, there are authorities who embrace them, and who use them as fundraising projects or tourism attractions.
The history of love padlocks dates back at least 100 years to a melancholic Serbian tale of World War I, with an attribution for the bridge Most Ljubavi (lit. the Bridge of Love) in the spa town of Vrnjačka Banja.
A local schoolmistress named Nada, who was from Vrnjačka Banja, fell in love with a Serbian officer named Relja. After they committed to each other Relja went to war in Greece where he fell in love with a local woman from Corfu. As a consequence, Relja and Nada broke off their engagement.
Nada never recovered from that devastating blow, and after some time she died due to heartbreak from her unfortunate love.
As young women from Vrnjačka Banja wanted to protect their own loves, they started writing down their names, with the names of their loved ones, on padlocks and affixing them to the railings of the bridge where Nada and Relja used to meet.
In the rest of Europe, love padlocks started appearing in the early 2000s as a ritual or epidemy. The reasons love padlocks started to appear vary between locations and in many instances are unclear. However, in Rome, the ritual of affixing love padlocks to the bridge Ponte Milvio can be attributed to the 2006 book I Want You by Italian author Federico Moccia, who made a film adaptation in 2007.
This row of locks is for one gate leading to the fire road. I wonder if you can get in if you just unlock one
This is a simple lock. There is nothing special about this lock.
