The lock on my shed. Taken with a Lens Baby Sweet 30 lens

Acts 5:25-29

American Standard Version

25 And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people. 26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, but without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, 28 saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. 29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.

A view of a Master Lock taken for the Flickr Friday group theme, "Recall." The frame represents a span of 2⅔ - inches across.

Strobist info:

The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights positioned at 9- and 3-o'clock, 18-inches above and three-feet away from the lock. The speedlights were fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄128 power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes.

The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X flash triggers.

Old house keys, Masterlock keys, steamer trunk keys, etc.

Lit with a Ulanzi LED.

This is the bottom end of the Master Lock Magnum Padlock. With a name like Magnum you know its got to be tough. The body width is 1-3/4 inches, 1-1/2 inches of which is in frame.

Strobist/technical info:

The lock was placed in a 24'' x 24" light box with black velvet-textured fabric as a backdrop. Two Nikon SB900 speedlights were placed laterally 90-degress CR and CL and aimed up at a 30-degree angle. The speedlight CL was fired bare through the light box in Manual mode @ 1⁄8 power. The speedlight CR was also bare and in Manual mode, fired @ 1⁄16 power. A third speedlight, a Nikon SB700 with a Gary Fong 5th Gen Lightsphere attached was placed 20-degrees CL and 8" behind the camera position. It was used as fill light and was fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄128 power. An 8"x10" white foam board was placed directly below and in front of the lens for added bounce. The blue LED of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight was shone during exposure for blue highlights. It was placed 6" directly above the camera and pointed down at the subject at a 45-degree angle.

The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X 's; the SB700 was placed in SU-4 mode and triggered by the other flashes.

Moment captured May 5th, 2019 at Whitnall Park in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. (USA)

Calvin's new digs. A neighborhood resident helped him put it together a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't look like much, but it is, by far, the best living accommodations under the tracks.

8' x 4' x 4'. There isn't a lot of spare room, so any "non-essential essentials" stay on top and run the risk of being stolen. But anything else gets locked up whenever he is out (there is a Masterlock on the door). After that, there is just enough room for him to squeeze in to sleep.

Calvin keeps a broom, shovel, and a few cleaning supplies stored in the track pillars. Calvin takes pride in keeping his location clean. He realizes that the city has no regrets over coming out and cleaning up (throwing everything away) if it gets overgrown.

Calvin seems to realize how hard dome things are to come by. He doesn't want to take the chance on losing a good winter coat, boots, gloves, etc... and (literally and figuratively) being left out in the cold.

Macro Mondays high key theme 2020

Taken in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Walking around the back of this building, I found this little door. The door, latch and hinges look like some I've seen on coolers, but smaller than most. I'm guessing it was an outside access to a cooler of some sort, but the building really gave no clue. It's certainly been there a while, but is held closed by a rather new looking padlock.

Pardon the pun but couldn't help myself with the title. ;-)

Macro Mondays all about the shadow theme April 2015

YN460 fired through a speaker cover as a gobo, (go between,) to add some shadow pattern also. Explore

What's behind the door?

A still life, selective color image taken outdoors of a rusted chain and a Master lock securing a chained-link fence to a post.

this is the year that shouldn't be... still feeling locked up, but thankfully I have a garden, Monarchs and family to keep me busy...

Stay safe...

Came across this shot from a few years back. Not sure I've ever posted it here.

This is a small lockset I bought years ago just to provide a minor deterrent against anyone who wanted to rummage through my luggage. It wouldn't stop anyone but they could not do it with their action going unnoticed.

ADMIN: The lock itself is only 3/4 of an inch wide.
