Taken in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Actually, I guess this is more correctly called a "rusty old iron gate".

A bit of rust makes an interesting statement.

So there is this place I heard about where couples (newlyweds I guess considering I saw about 7 different brides in wedding dresses braving the -20 degree cold) sign and attach a lock to these metal "trees" on the bridge and then throw the key to the lock over the bridge into the Moscow River. There were about 15 trees and I took tons of pictures, but liked this one the best because you get to see the variety of locks and how packed in they are. I love this little tradition the city made for its people - but it has one problem. The Moscow River is frozen solid probably 6 months of the year, so their keys are all gathering on top of the ice for half the year... I guess you don't get that romantic "plop" like when you throw a coin into a fountain. Still cool idea though!

We had a wonderful afternoon "class" as we shared techniques on using textures to add depth and "story" to an image at one of the local Starbucks. She is a real delight and encourager. Take a look at her stream if you have not been there before.
Taken at a boathouse along the Crooked River inland waterway in Alanson, Michigan.
I wouldn't think this is an overly secure way to protect a valuable boat. It was on the door to one of the slips in an old building that has been there since I first visited the area over some 60 years ago. Some of the other nearby boathouses were in similarly poor looking condition and have more recently been removed.
