Ron Maydon driving the LEC CRP1. From what I learned this weekend Ron is the driving force behind the Maters series.

LEC was a UK motor racing team and Formula One constructor based at Bognor Regis, West Sussex. They participated in ten Grands Prix using a March in 1973 and their own car, the LEC CRP1, in 1977.

LEC racing returned to Formula One in 1977 with their own LEC chassis designed by Mike Pilbeam[2] and run by Mike Earle. It was this car in which Purley suffered serious injuries in an accident during pre-qualifying for that year's British Grand Prix. He survived an estimated 179.8 g when he decelerated from 173 km/h (108 mph) to 0 in a distance of 66 cm (26 inches) after his throttle got stuck wide open and he hit a wall.[3] For many years, this was thought to be the highest g-force ever survived by a human being.[3] He suffered multiple fractures to his legs, pelvis and ribs.

The second CRP1 has been restored and has competed in historic Formula One racing alongside a modern replica built by WKD Motorsport.

I took this when we had our first snow this year.. We have had another since which I have posted.. I just hope we don't have any more.. It is all gone now but we had freezing fog this morning and that is more than enough for me... Happy Windows Wednesday, Everybody

Yes, I have been playing Shogun II.

Here they are - the two top-notch road switchers of the mid 1950s, meeting face to face: Fairbanks-Morse H-24-66 'Train Master' (right) and Alco RSD-7 (left), both rated at 2400hp.

I thought I'd share this photo because I found it interesting to see the differences between the two locomotive designs, notably the stretched short hood of the Alco with notched corners for the sand fills, or the higher level of the FM's walkways. Both were MU-capable, but obviously not compatible.

The C-trucks of the two were quite similar in real life, both showing the unequal axle spacing. The Lego versions on my models are slightly different in length, though, with the FM being the older one. I guess I'll update it to the new version, which is 1 stud shorter and better hides the clearance caused by the outer axle being articulated. With this, the FM will be finished, after one and a half years of tuning and tweaking details. Maybe.

The replacement for the TS-11 Iskra in Polish service is the impressive M-346 Master. Seen as part of the small static display during the open day at Deblin, 7702 is part of the resident 41.BLSz.
