Yesterday afternoon, in the yard of my old college friends' beautiful farmhouse on the shores of Lake Michigan. What a gorgeous day and fall scene.
Autumn at Westonbirt Arboretum is most spectacular time of the year. Westonbirt, Gloucestershire, England.
Such a beautiful day! Going to be 70 today, which is unusual for November in Vermont!! One of the trees in my yard still has some briliant leaves "hanging on!"
Sometimes I like the look of trees de-leaved better than in full foliage.

The Japanese Maple Tree at the Portland Japanese Garden is something to behold and has become the symbol of the garden because of its delicate beauty and amazing shape.

Taken on a short walk on Columbus Day, 2013. The weather was amazing and our village was loaded with colorful trees. Couldn't resist a break away from the mountain of portraits I've been editing lately. Will share many of those very soon.
I have had this image as my background for my computer for some time now. I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner at my home this year. Lots of family coming, lots of baking and shopping, so very little time to get out and shoot and edit images. I'll try and post one image a day and will comment as much as possible. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with lots of family, friends, good food, and laughter.
Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.
The ruby red acer trees sit like the crown jewels against the green background. Autumn in the Westonbirt Arboretum is always special. The range of colours displayed by famous acer collection in the Westonbirt Arboretum attracts tens of thousands of people every year in October. And it is worth all the efforts. I took this shot from our front door step over 50 years ago, when we lived in Connecticut. The original was quite harsh and contrasty, so I "artsified" it a bit in Topaz Studio.
