It’s fall, and the leaves are just starting to turn. October is usually warm and dry, but so far it’s been cool and wet. It rained all night, and there’s been just a hint of sunshine so far.

Yellow maple on Altezza

I picked up Scarlet to use as my model this afternoon. After working with enthusiastic and cooperative insects, I was in no mood for attitude. Thankfully, she was totally cooperative, to the point of staying motionless wherever I placed her. This is one of my favourites from our photo session.

Every glance through the pure water of this puddle with the maple leaf just lying there frozen in time in the bottom calmness... Every glance takes me to the times of the Dinosaurs. Just for a little while I stop and play a scenario in my head, what if this really was a footprint of a T-Rex?
