I've got my full review done of the brand new Zeiss Milvus APO Sonnar 135mm f/2 (2/135mm). It is literally one of the best lenses optically ever, and now has an improved, weather sealed body. Manual focus only, but it is one sweet bit of glass! Read my review here: bit.ly/2cVZOCj | Watch my YouTube Review: bit.ly/2d6W7nT | Visit the Image Gallery: bit.ly/2c1hYQ9

This is essentially an unmodified shot of a squirrel taken with the Canon EOS R and a vintage manual focus Fujinon 55mm f/1.8 m42 lens adapted with a Fotodiox Pro M42-Eos R adapter. I used the magnify to focus method built into the Canon EOS R to focus on the squirrel. I had to take the photo quickly as he was determined not to stick around.
Except for a tiny adjustment to vibrancy, and a local lift in exposure on the squirrel, both performed in Lightroom, this photo was left exactly as it came out of camera. It illustrates just how nice this vintage lens can be when used in the right light. I shot this wide open at f/1.8. It has not been cropped.
I really like that the squirrel is so engaged by the camera, and yet so small in the frame. This makes it a bit of a search. See if you can spot him . . . :-)
Kim değil ki? Herkes kendi uzun ince yolunda ilerliyor.

Manual focus lens from the late '60s converted to ai, still creates fine images. I haven't used this lens for many years.

The "polar vortex" has lingered for several weeks here, with temperatures dropping deeply before zero day after day. This morning it was -30C without wind chill, and it wasn't much warmer when I took this shot standing in knee deep snow yesterday evening. The long shadows are polar blue, and the sun, while bright, has been putting off very little warmth. Brrrr...I'm ready for spring. For this shot I used the new Viltrox 20mm F1.8 - a brand new lens for Sony FE. You can see more images from it here: bit.ly/viltrox20IG or watch my first look video on the lens here: bit.ly/viltrox20FL
