This wonderful creature lives in an inland saltwater lagoon in Krabi Province.
the site is a conservation project and is home to many varied species.
The stingray seen here was very friendly and intelligent, he knew exactly when feeding time was and shot across the lagoon when the food appeared!
A very placid fish who was happy to let you stroke him, felt as rough as sandpaper. Watch out for the tail mind.

The little black flecks at the bottom of this photo are fishes - I think the mantas were trying to utilise a cleaning station there.

Palplansele PVC tip ESP instalate de catre societatea Spectrum Construct SRL in judetul Bacau, cu scopul de aparare de mal si perete de sprijin impotriva eroziunii, si-au atins obiectivul pentru care au fost comandate.
Este vorba de un parau cu latimea albiei ce nu depasea 7,00metri, cu maluri abrupte de 2-3,00 metri, avand pe stanga proprietati ale localnicilor si pe dreapta un drum judetean(ceea ce implica luarea in calcul a suprasarcinilor si vibratiilor).
Lucrarea s-a executat iarna la temperaturi de -5 ÷ -15ºC folosindu-se palplanse PVC la o fisa de 2,5metri (vezi foto). Pentru rigidizarea peretelui acesta a fost ancorat cu ancore de pamant Manta-Ray MR-4 la interval de 2,00metri. Lucrarea s-a executat in conditii de iarna grea cu un ritm de aproximativ 10,00 metri de perete pe zi cu minim de forta de munca (trei muncitori) si minim de utilaje de mica capacitate (boldo-excavator si compresor cu ciocan pneumatic).
Palplansele au fost batute la cota cu ciocanul pneumatic COLLINS, iar ancorele cu un pickhammer electric si expandate cu dispozitivul produs de SPECTRUM CONSTRUCT. S-au folosit palplanse din PVC cu o grosime mai mare pentru a rezista socurilor mecanice produse de obiectele carate in timpul viiturilor.
In concluzie nu putem decat sugera partenerilor din colectivele de proiectare si constructii hidrotehnice folosirea acestei solutii pe viitor, acolo unde conditiile o impun.
