Lunch @ "La Bota", a Spanish Tapas-Italian joint.
I wanted mushrooms and truffles and without consulting my table, we were served the Manchego Cheese and ham version.
The croquettes were rich, moist and satisfying with a lava interior but ham and cheese was so standard a combo that they did not surprise.

You can't get more Spanish than Iberico Ham but the tapas joint was a tad 'stingy' with the slivers. There were a lot more tomato slices on the toast than the decadent ham itself.
The toasts were perfectly crunchy though!

sooooo yummy, at Lauren and Peter's. What I remember: dehydrated olives, roasted peppers, olive oil pudding, anchovies, roasted garlic, tortilla strips with individually melted manchego cheese on top. Transcendental nachos.
Campo de Criptana is one of the towns in La Mancha where the regional traditional architecture is best preserved. The town being on a hill, most of the lanes are steep and winding, many of them with cobblestone steps. The traditional Manchego houses are immaculately whitewashed with their bases and door frames painted in indigo.
