And now, for no reason at all, a giant crab.
Not entirely sure if I should call this finished but it's been sitting around long enough that I'm prepared to show it off.

Took this on the Waimea end of Mana Road, looking toward Mauna Kea.
A friend and I mountain biked along this dirt road which winds around the volcano. It's over 40 miles from this end to the other, where Mana Road joins the summit road at about 7000 feet elvation. I've ridden the full length a few times in the downhill direction, but this was the first time I'd ridden in the uphill direction. We didn't ride the entire length this time -- since we were unsupported, we did an out-and-back ride -- but riding it up was definitely a challenge!
This was the only shot I took on the entire trip, as I left my camera in the truck. There were some amazing photo-ops along the way that made me wish I had brought at least my old Canon G2 along on the bike. The koa forest, the old ranch buildings, the wild turkeys and pueo, and the rapidly changing weather all needed to be photographed. Next time!
