So I like to play Magic: the Gathering (MTG). It is basically a card game with pretty pictures, and the goal is to make your opponent or opponents as miserable as possible and prevent them from playing how they want.
I have built MOCs inspired by MTG art before, on multiple occasions. Some more some less accurate to the source material, but never attempted to go all out. Until now, I guess. While far from perfect, the art on the card "Mana Vault" has been on my mind for years.
The cube was quite fun to build, but I kind of hit a wall (probably could not afford to pay 4 at the beginning of my upkeep, so the vault stayed tapped and I lost 1 life each turn...) for a few months, building only the base ring and kind of fiddling with pillar designs. A lot of my tan went into these pillars... As for the levitation effect, it was also pretty hard to do. I do not really own any land on an island, just a bit of a forest. So I had to use mana from that forest, get it filtered with a Chromatic Sphere to get blue, then use that mana to cast leap on the cube to give it flying. It was just a big mess all around.
Tell me what you think about it, would appreciate it a lot.
