This shot is here only to show the pose Mana did. As you can see, much better back round, awesome dress, incredible hair (that was his natural hair length back then). I almost got the pose right.
not a 365. will talk about why i missed the last 3 days later - maybe -
as for this --
it's been sitting on my drive for several weeks now and i realized that i will probably never actually finish it and so this is what you get.
this is a DSLR photo that i started sketching over in photoshop and then added a texture and color shade too (it was originally supposed to be B&W since i was just using Mana to test low key lighting techniques which is how this pic came about in the first place...)
often when i edit pics in photoshop to add extra emphasis on light or extra apparent light sources i do a sketch on a layer that i later delete where i just use a brush to highlight and lowlight where i want extra light and shadows or shine to be...
so for some reason on the day i started this, i just started "drawing" over the pic instead, or i guess a more appropriate word would be, uhh, "sketching"... i use quotes because even "sketching" is a far too kind way to refer to my personal shaky chicken scratch scrawl and i have personal issues with actual drawing that i\'ll actually maybe possibly address at some point but some of my friends on here might already know how i feel about it or at least be able to make an educated guess as to why "drawing" scares the shit out of me.
tl;dr - have this WIP sketch thingy of Mana, my VMF50 Sayo doll, not really looking for critique because if i tried to fix every single flaw i already see in this myself, i would never finish it, and that is why i'm posting it now.
(that said, big thanks to my really really good friend @ dollymodel and also my boyfriend for giving me some helpful advice on what to do with whatever the hell this turned into....)
oh and more credit - i used a texture from @ divsm-stock.deviantart.com for which i'm also super grateful since this particular texture had absolutely no TOU, not even required credit, and i love it when stock artists are that generous /selfless about the things they make and choose to let other people use.
finally if you want to see what the original picture looked like, there's a gallery on my imgur where the only "editing" applied is various lightroom presets (mix of default and custom) - imgur.com/a/cRa5I

Another shot from the fabulous Mana Island coral reef. With 30+m vis, the sea floor is about 20-25m down hence the blue colour but clearly identifiable coral there. We were following this turtle for a while but he/she didn't want to come to the surface. It is about 10+m down (white balance at that depth). The shot is @ 35mm with no crop so a long way down
The extent of the diversity/variety of coral is clear to see :-)
8 Gold and 8 Silver variations of iridescent colors. Mesh Eyes w/ HUD, BOM, and Omega. Works with most major heads and various 3rd party eyes.
Available Noon 7/25 @ The Fifty.
16 color variations. Omega Systems that support Lelutka, Catwa, Genus, and more brands. Mesh Eyes w/HUD, and BOM.
Available @ Engine Room Sept 20th 12 (NOON) pm SLT.
About a year ago I played through this game yet again, this time together with my girlfriend. We both had so much fun during that time, it actually made us sad we finished the game. That reminded me of why I love this game so much, the hundreds of play throughs I did as a kid and as an adult, so an idea was born..
This is my LEGO render of the official box art of the Super Nintendo game Secret Of Mana.
The game was released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo by Square. In Japan the game was called Seiken Densetsu 2. It is an official game from the Final Fantasy line up, but one of the few that used a real time battle system. What really made this game interesting was the fact that you could play it in "co-op" as it is called today, wich, offcourse, means great fun!
My idea is to make a series of this game, rendering certain scenes from the game in LEGO, and this MOC being the intro to this series.
Thanks for looking!
And now, for no reason at all, a giant crab.
Not entirely sure if I should call this finished but it's been sitting around long enough that I'm prepared to show it off.
That time of year again! Fantasy Faire opens the 21st and is host to several sims worth of amazing fantasy creators across the grid. Come check out Mana on the Atheneum sim!
