Hawaiian for supernatural or divine power, powerful, strong, divinely powerful, spiritual.
Sunrise from the summit of Haleakala.
This was captured an hour before the sunrise. A small crescent moon, Jupiter and Venus in a triangle rising above the horizon.
It was cold and windy but it didn't stop people from venturing out of the comfort of their warm vehicles. Once out, they were in awe of the incredible beauty of the experience.
What blew me away was that on this morning, on two separate occasions, individuals came up to me and thanked me for having such a beautiful place!
All I could say was "You're welcome! Thank you for visiting!" I knew they had experienced the mana of Haleakala.
Created for for Utata IP261 with the elements:
1- Something which is associated with the place where you live. (Mana Island)
2- An object you have found by the roadside. (Spit pin)
3- A big blur.
The word Manas roughly translates to "Monstrous", and such a name could not be more fitting for this abominable horror. A joint effort between Chirox, Icarax, and Bitilix, the Manas is more machine than beast, merging cold calculating strength with savage cunning. While initially designed for excavation and construction work, it was decided early in development to focus on making them powerful shock troops, perfect for supplementing Icarax's army. With immense strength, resistance to most powers, and the ability to spin at rapid speeds, a Manas is a force to be feared. And they never work alone.
Beautiful Mātukutuku searching for lunch in the Mana estuary.

Here's a still from the same time … Mana Matuku
A sculpture recognising the contribution Maori have made to the birth and development of Christchurch.
"Featuring two upright waka sculptures 4.75 metres high, the artwork is designed to complement the existing statue of Queen Victoria and emphasise the partnership between the Crown and Ngāi Tahu as Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Treaty of Waitangi) signatories. For many years, the statue of Queen Victoria was the only recognition of the treaty relationship between the Crown and Ngāi Tūāhuriri (manawhenua of this place). With the installation of Mana Motuhake, the treaty partner relationship is better acknowledged."https://www.celebratechristchurch.co.nz/blogs/featured-places/mana-motuhake-sculpture.
