Making Ollie's birthday cake. In the past I've dyed the icing, then rolled and cut it out. This time I decided to try a colour wash and was really happy with the results.

This was taken during a field trip to the local museum while the 7th graders learned about the history of making mint oil in Nakagawa. Straight from their elders. It was a badass expedition.
my first two block prints. i think i'll get more into this because it was pretty fun and now i know a little more about what i'm doing with it.

With over 20 days in the 90's over the past month, everyone wants to make a splash. While visiting our friends, John & Sally, this neighborhood dog followed us down to the wetlands. Then off she scampered to check out the creeks. All kinds of creatures in the wetlands, and below is one of the green herons seen in the distance. Looking forward to the next trip when it's not so hot.
Congrats to Lori (Learning Junkie), for winning the July challenge, and she has chosen "Neon" for the August theme. The outing for the month is the Balloons and Tunes Festival in Grove City on the 26th & 27th. OhioFoothills' members will probably be meeting on Saturday the 27th so check the discussion post for updates.
A solid days drive the day before to make it out to Wooleen Station and a very late night that night, nearly had me falling back to sleep in my swag! But I'm glad I didn't otherwise I would have missed out on seeing this with my own two eyes!

As the city grew, bridges and underpasses separated the streets from the railroad bed, lending this central reservation some of the impact of a river (without the pleasant associations of a waterfront).
The 16th Annual Phillips House Antique Car show was held on Aug 13, 2017. This event is held every year on the 2nd Sunday of August. The Antique Automobile Club of America defines an antique car as 25 years or older (1992 or earlier).
The Phillips House began with Elias Hasket Derby, one of America's first self-made millionaires from the sea trade. When he died in 1799, his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Captain Nathaniel West, inherited his farm in Danvers, Massachusetts. They built a country house on the property, sparing little expense. A grand estate was in the making. In 1806, shortly after the house was completed, divorce forced Nathaniel off the property. After Elizabeth died in 1814, the house was left to her three daughters. When one of the daughters died in 1819, Nathaniel inherited one-third of the estate. He proceeded to move four rooms to Salem, the museum's present location. At that time, he added a hallway, a third floor and a back ell section. In 1911, Stephen W. Phillips bought the house, moving in with five generations of family furnishings. He lived in the house until his death in 1955. The house remains as it was at that time, containing an eclectic collection representing the Phillips's extensive travels.
The Phillips House is now owned and operated as a historic house museum by Historic New England and is open for public tours. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

A noiva usou vestido of white da Só Núpcias e sapatos Luana Zabot, na cor rosa queimado ou rosé. As alianças de ouro branco, com brilhante na aliança da noiva foram levados para a cerimônia em fusquinhas retrô com laço de cetim.
