Next year's headache in the making....this seed head had already managed to send off most of it's tiny parasols of seed before the lazy gardener, (guess who), could get to it...this year's beauty will be next year's headache...
Another food flat lay. I was trying to make it a bit fun but it feels a bit stiff to me. Happy Thursday!

I feel so special. After all my fears and thrills from my Monarch efforts this summer, I'm thrilled again to have the Monarchs passing through my yard on their way to somewhere. They've been just kindof fluttering through, one at a time, circling, occasionally making a refueling stop. So here's today's visitor, a male (I got so smart studying up). You can just tell by the smudge on the underside of his wing (I marked it). It's much more obvious from the topside. I watched for a little over a half-hour and it was all boy(s) - not sure if it was the same guy or more than one, since I only saw them one at a time. I sure hope he gets where he's going. What a joy to be a part of this cycle.
If you check this large, you can see how the eye is spotted to match the rest of his outfit. I find that fascinating.
As we walked along the beach we noticed the skimmers were getting a little nervous as other people walked nearer to them. They would takeoff and circle around, re-settling a little further up the beach. They did this several times as we observed them, making some great opportunities for in flight shot as they made another pass.
Have a great, blessed and safe weekend!
Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

England’s capital is renowned for cold weather, warm beer and iconic tourist hotspots including some of the world’s most famous bridges.
But a lesser known bridge in Hampstead Heath, suitably know as ‘Sham Bridge’, has been making headlines for the last 200 years.
Most bridges are designed to at least bear the weight of vehicles or pedestrians crossing over them. However, this bridge located in North West London fails to meet these conventional requirements.
Found above the Thousand Pound Pond in Hampstead Heath, this bridge initially appears to be a typical structure. Yet, upon closer inspection from a different perspective, its true nature is revealed.
Given its nickname, the ‘Sham Bridge,’ this ornamental structure near Kenwood House is merely a two-dimensional feature, lacking the practicality for actual crossing.
Its origins can be traced back to the mid-18th century when it was part of the grounds owned by the first Earl of Mansfield.
Remember when your Mother said making faces would cause your face to freeze that way?
Thank God for little ones who try it anyway.
(and get your mind out of the gutter!...LOL)

An orangutan child stays with her mother until about 8 years old, but the uran’s mother died when she was 4 years old, so the keeper took the place of her mother. I like to play with petite, but I am adult at age.
Uran loves making hammocks with cloth and observing customers. She is very good at hanging out with just one foot or hanging with one finger.
Please give a gentle voice when your eyes meet uran.

I cleared some room on one of my other drives to download some photos from my camera. I'll just edit them as needed until I can get my setup back to normal with a dedicated photography drive. Hopefully by early next week.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend my Flickr friends. Stay safe and keep the shutters clicking.
Having just changed drivers, recently re-geared DB Cargo 'Shed' 66655 is paused temporarily at Nottingham station with the 11.11am Kingsbury Oil Terminal - Humber Refinery discharged petroleum tanks (6E54).
An appealing sight for any rail enthusiast with a beating heart - but seemingly of less interest to the passenger making tracks for the station exit.

I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians. Francis Ford Coppola

Brian was so pleased when he was selected to appear on the BBC cooking show Master Chef, but he is now rather concerned - he thought he had applied to be a contestant...
Pesto is a generic term for anything made by pounding. The word pestle derives from an old verb meaning to pound or crush.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Tool'. This image shows my very small mortar and pestle used for grinding spices.
No snails were crushed, ground up or otherwise harmed in the making of this image.
