Macro Mondays " Back In The Day" theme.

Made in the 1940s or 50s by my grandfather, who was a brush maker.

He made industrial brushes for the woollen mills as well as domestic brushes. As a child I loved to watch them being made in the workshop.

The large black cloud is blowing out all the lovely, white fluffy ones !!

Happy Web Wednesday have a great day folks & HA14 ;0)

Macro Mondays theme: “candle”

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

For Flickr Friday's theme #Letters

The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,

and all of them going to the fair.

The Dicken's Christmas Fair to be exact. It's a Victorian visual feast between now and Christmas at the Cow Palace in Daly City. It's well worth a visit if you're local.

This lady is technically a candle maker and not a candlestick maker, I guess.

Photo of this bread maker was taken on the West Bank of the Nile in Luxor during one of my trips to Egypt during the 1990s. Again, is a scanned image.

"Ah, it was a time of sharing, of remembering, building, adventuring, dreaming ... but above all, it was the time of my kind, the time of mask makers ... those for whom the art of creating great Kanohi Masks from Kanoka Disks was all that we lived for."

The red light effect is actually an LED tube rolled in some red sheets, complemented with a faint blue light behind his back.

It's not easy to get a flying insect in focus so I feel extremely lucky to have this shot

“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams”

Willy Wonka

"Well then, this is a predicament isn't it?"

"There's no need to be shy now, I know you're there in the darkness. Step into the light."

"You ask who I am? Well, that is rather simple. What's the saying? 'Meet thy maker'?"

"Ah doubts, they're all around in the hearts and minds of you aren't they?"

"You know, I was once well known decades ago. But times change don't they? What was once important becomes coated in dust."

"It's funny, I know everything about you. Your story, your trials and triumphs. How it all ended."

"But you know nothing of me. I once had an island, friends, a status. They all left in the end, their beautiful minds turned."

"They used to come for me for help, for knowledge. But in the end knowledge corrupts. They saw my grand designs. They wanted no more."

"They called me a maniac. Well, sort of".

"The truth is I am the originator, the crafter, the maker. The Lego and the Ogel. I shaped this reality and have watched it twist away from my designs".

"I am the Infomaniac. And I want to play..."

An idea I've considered over the past year.

The Infomaniac is a strange and curious character. It is said in the Lego Island game that he created Lego island and the Brickster. Which is seemingly a godlike power.

I like to think he could be an eldritch entity in some shape or form. But with a very Willy Wonka like sinister personality.

Originally I was going to use a more sinister looking face. But none really matched the original look of the Infomaniac.

And yes, those are giant minifigure hands 😂

The holidays are finally here. No time like the present to start decorating, making things merry and bright, getting in the spirit of things, and spreading goodwill and cheer to all.

When the guys showed up early for Movie Night, Stormtrooper Bruce asked if they'd be willing to help him decorate his quarters again. It's a yearly tradition so of course they said yes.

matt + i are in love with this photo.!

taken TODAY from our recent shoot!

My first test of Impossible I-1's manual mode was this illuminated inflatable forest made by Astro Botanicals at the Maker Faire. A 1.5 second exposure.

I walk around the garden and find these two mischief makers silently up to something. Not too sure if they were trying to cultivate or dig for worms.

<3 This was a while ago, I've been gone for 2 weeks and this is my first chance to upload in a while. This is from the Maker Faire, and it's a Fucking. 3d-printed. MASTER CHEIF HELMET. <3333333333

The Maker: Our hardworking rural women are the symbol of our women empowerment with a lot of difficulties. They are the real heroes for their family and us. The unseen heroes.

I've had troubles with Umeko (don't know why, she just lacks something) and decided to try if she would work out better as a male.... I guess it was worth trying out the dandy-body for Umeko, look at this handsome creature *___*

I also have a weak spot for blond and white haired boys..... so Umeko will be a boy from now on! Maybe he will be a new member for the boyband?! 8D

it all started with one pixel ;~))

Display in the window of Warren's Bakery in the Pannier Market, Tavistock claiming to be the oldest Cornish Pasty Maker in the world. Tavistock is part of the Cornwall Mining Landscape UNESCO heritage site.

Tavistock has the reputation as the town that rejected McDonald's. The newly opened burger outlet closed in 2006!

It is not difficult to understand why - fast food here has always been The Cornish Pasty and there are a number of outlets around the town that sell them both in their conventional form and also with more exotic fillings.

This liking of the Pasty in the area is a legacy of the mining boom which spanned the Tamar and encompassed this corner of West Devon - hence Tavistock being incorporated into the UNESCO Cornish Mining World Heritage site.

Tavistock has the atmosphere of a Cornish town rather than a Devon Town with granite pavements similar to those in Penzance.

In recent years Warren's Bakery has had a range of problems which resulted in the closure of the St Just factory in 2019.

It is many years since I have had a Warren's pasty thus can't comment on the current range. When in Tavistock I tend to prefer "The Original Pasty House" though have tried the offerings of the Oggy Oggy Pasty Shop.
