The Magma Arizona Railroad interchanged with Southern Pacific at a spot on the map named, appropriately enough, Magma Junction. Before the train returned home to Superior, we caught them at this aging water tower. Magma ran steam locomotives late into the 1960s.

A trio of Copper Basin geeps cruise into Florence with a short cut of cars from the UP interchange in Magma.

Through the motions go
Slowing down or abide
In their easy way on flow
Lines of hours gasping
Turning point in time
With their shallow grasping
In hours of molding prime
What is love inside of this?
In a world of reality
Nothing but a turning bliss
Feelings coming free
Within skies or empty place
Their going footsteps
That the knots will lace
After some broken precepts
Reykjanes Iceland, 20 min driving from the International Airport and similar distance from Reykjavik, our Capital we have an wonderful Volcanic Eruption. Just starting few days ago, but scientist have been waiting for a long time and people in near towns have got enough of 1000 of earthquakes pr. day... for weeks and little less for almost a year. Its a walk for about an hour.

C'est avec les yeux d'un enfant que je contemple le spectacle de cette éruption volcanique. C'est d'une rare beauté.
Le magma est un mot d'origine grecque signifiant « pâte », à base de roche en fusion contenant des gaz dissous et des cristaux. Attention ça brule!

My eldest has just started to play rugby, which means Sunday mornings are now spent leaning against this post to watch him train and play. It looks like it used to be a lovely post (as posts go!) and it's clearly seen better days... But it's retained a fair bit of beauty in its old age, even though it's rusted up and the good bits are peeling off. I'll resist the urge to make comparisons with life... :)

Magma Arizona Railroad's only wooden caboose trails a MMA train en route from Superior to Magma, Arizona, November 2, 1968. The mine railroad ceased operations in 1997, but the track remains in place.
