The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),
oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

Landscape formed by Magma :
The magma entered the mudstone, cooled, hardened, and became an igneous rock.
A huge tusnami carried the collapsed rocks to the land side.
Catania on the east coast of Sicily washed by the Ionian sea,
is known for its seismic history, having been destroyed many times by catastrophic earthquake and several volcanic eruptions from the Volcano Etna.
Etna's history is mixed with the myth Hephaestus, Greek god of fire and the patron of all craftsmen, his forge and workshop was believed to be situated under the volcano.

This hissing mountain of steam is the only thing like it in Yellowstone. Roaring Mountain is a barren hillside of thermal features called fumaroles. It got its name from the loud hissing and roaring that it makes due to thermal activity and could be heard miles away in the days of its discovery. Nowadays the roaring has quieted a bit but can still be heard if you listen carefully. There are no trees on the most active parts of Roaring Mountain due to the intense heat and gases that emminate through its vents. Its slopes are inhospitable to all but the toughest microorgansims. This unique mountain is in one of the hottest parts of Yellowstone National Park.
Roaring Mountain is formed of rhyolite, a volcanic rock that contains 70-75% silica, which combined with the thermal action gives it this white appearance. Looks like snow but isn't.
So many wonders in this special ecosystem.

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina;
I made photos related to "street photography";
I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, performing their portraits, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
The volcano Etna, in recent days has shown an intense eruptive activity, I photographed that spectacular eruptions from Taormina;
I tried to capture minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street .. ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.
………………………………………………………
Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina;
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo incontrato prima, eseguendo dei loro ritratti, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
il vulcano Etna, nei giorni scorsi ha mostrato una intensa attività eruttiva, anche con intensi fenomeni chiamati "fontane di lava", emissioni a getto continuo perdurate intensamente per molti minuti, di altissime "fontane" di magma incandescente, molto spettacolari e non comuni, le fotografie dell'Etna sono state realizzate da Taormina;

In this image a vertical basaltic dyke has been exposed in the rolling hills of the Yellowstone River Valley near Hepburn Mesa, Montana.
A dike or dyke, in geological usage, is a sheet of rock that is formed in a fracture of a pre-existing rock body. Dikes can be either magmatic or sedimentary in origin. Magmatic dikes form when magma flows from below into a crack in the upper rock layers then solidifies as a sheet intrusion, either cutting across layers of rock or through a contiguous mass of rock.
Even though I haven't done much railfanning lately I have been getting a lot of my old slides scanned and archived.

With all of the volcanos erupting around the world I thought a trip under one into the magma chamber might make an interesting speculation. For the Sliders Sunday group. Base image created using a Canon PowerShot camera and processed using Photoshop, Quad Pencil and Fractalius.
