Queue for the Safari ride in the Africa section at DAK.
Lefty continues to recover from his broken arm, although it is still weak and fragile. My workload seems like it's increased tenfold, but I'm sure it's not that bad. It has, however, restricted the time I can spend visiting our wonderful photostreams. I will get caught up and see each and every upload - it's just taking extra time. Thanks to all my Flickr friends. :)

Twizel, New Zealand, the natural beauty of this country is incredible. Driving to Lake Pukaki with Levin Barrett on his Rareview Photography tour and we were astounded by the colours of the trees.
Blue hour over the Golden Gate bridge and San Francisco city. Pure magic. Shot close to Battery Spencer.

Highest Position in Explore #106 Aug 1, 2009 Thank You!
I wanted to escape the 90 degree heat in the low lands and decided to visit the Mt Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. This is a different view of Mt Shuksan from Artist's Point. The classic shot of this mountain is usually from Picture Lake, a little lower down the mountain. There were no clouds any where in the sky except for around Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan. I like having some clouds in the sky to make it interesting, but I had to contend with the giant shadows they were casting on the mountains.
I combined 3 exposures, +2, 0, -2, merged them in Photomatix and saturated the color and hue a bit. This picture, I think has a little "Painterly Effect," which I thought was different for this landscape capture.

Camera in one hand, fush and chups in the other, surrounded by buzzing mosquitoes on the shores of Lake Ellesmere. Arriving hours early for the astro workshop dinner and sunset seemed to coincide so I took a walk along the shore looking for cool locations for later.
Lake Ellesmere happened to be nice and calm, something we'd take advantage of later, and access to the shoreline was good, sunset provided a little colour, helped here with a bit of processing magic.
Shot with a Canon 6d and 16-35f4L IS, ISO 100, f10, 1/2 second. Sirui w2204 waterproof tripod and a half scoop of chips.

Magic shot, and completely by accident! The morning that we were moving house, I got out just after sunrise to start getting our moving boxes (actually salvaged from an import company, who bring in stuff from Japan) together, and found that flower had just fallen onto the pile of boxes. The angle of the light, the position of the flower, and the Japanese writing in the foreground all screamed out "South Pacific"...despite the fact that I'm on the Indian Ocean coast.

Klemm Kl 25 was a successful German light leisure, sports and training monoplane aircraft, developed in 1928. More than 600 aircraft were built, and manufacturing licenses were sold to the United Kingdom and the United States.
I don't know how, but they managed to advertise BMW with the propeller blades spinning in this aircraft, it seems like magic…

Explore is up to mischief (far worse than the Pixie/Fairy in the shot itself!) and has picked the setup shot (I think it has a rule of 1 shot per day and it's picks the oldest!) to put into explore rather than the actual shot!!!!!! :->

I put up the setup shot for those photographic judges (landscapers are the worst!) who say things like "still life is easy" :-)
Strobist info - Brolly-softbox above. Home made softbox below the soil with gaps poked through it to catch the fog. Fog machine to the left in an Oveltine container with a hole cut in the side to direct the fog. Home made reflector acting as a bouncer for the fog. All triggered by the great cactus triggers.
