Light Science Magic.
There are a total of 5 shots in the set showing the slight variations of Black-on-black. The first 3 were shot on a black cloth(not velvet). The last 2 were on semi-glossy matboard.
Gave some definition to surface by slowing shutter by 1 stop. 1/1000 to 1/750. Gave enough light to see subject and surface.
As the book said, it started to become a preference thing between #2 and #3.

One of the first paintings using a large skin. It's gotten better and better since last time I saw it. I wonder how it does that :)

The lilac was a gift from my mother shortly after we moved here. I'm just tickled that it's a little secret place to crawl into now.
Remember those "magic trees" from when you were a kid? I do! And I saw one at the dollar store the other day... A must have upon first sight. I've been wanting to do more macro time lapses, and this was the perfect subject. I'll probably buy a few more and see if I can do one better than this... I think I can. The music is part of a NIN song I remixed.
