#6 on explore (www.flickr.com/explore/2025/03/02)

Can you imagine the moment? There was absolute silence in the forest, a heavy snowfall is falling.

The snow accumulates on the tree trunks and bushes leaning over the river.

The scenery is wonderful, Idyllic, it seems touched by magic. I felt that I could be on another planet.

Note: Contrary to what yous senses may be telling you, this is NOT a B&W image. It is a rather "normal" color photo. The fact is that there was almost no color in the scene...

Everyone should have a magic place...where he/she can focus on the innerself. This was taken after a rain storm...when the forest comes alive.

thanks to my amazing model

Everything around her was loud ...loud music, screaming, laughing but she was quiet and stared at the lights as if spellbound. Somehow she also seemed lost in her own world. That touched me.

For me that is the Magic of Christmas ...when someone is so fascinated that they forget everything around them.... ❤️

Here is my photograph for the Magic themed homework. If I was a witch this is how I would drink my tea.

Many thanks for a fantastic week on Explore! Another image from a lovely sunset last week given a little Slider magic for Slider's Sunday.. HSS!

Magic Forest: photos of nature seen in a magical and mysterious way.

Traveling over to the Magic Kingdom from the Transportation Ticket Center on the ferry.

I often do a lot of research to find beautiful locations to photograph. Sometimes, after a lot of effort, I arrive at a location and it doesn't live up to expectations. Other times, I turn up and it absolutely blows me away. Can you guess which category this location falls into?

Tombstone Territorial park in the Yukon was absolutely stunning. This location utterly floored me. Beautiful hints of fall colours, a sweeping vista leading to the setting sun with the powerful Tombstone mountain looming in the distance. How could it get any better? It could - and it did! The ground was littered with fresh berries, and I had this view to only myself and two friends. Great view, food growing everywhere, friends by your side, hard to beat. There's magic in the North Klondike Valley!

Photo taken with a Canon 5D IV, LEE 3 stop ND grad, Landscape Polarizer. Composed of three exposures, processed in Camera Raw and Photoshop.

I clearly don't know my fungi species well. After checking with a number of sources, these two are clearly from the inocybe family, but what kind? I'd also like to know if they are poisonous or edible, psychoactive or medicinal. Any answers, speculative or otherwise, would be greatly welcomed!

Disco Magic Sindy got four, somewhat extreme, separate outfits. This is one of them.

She is missing her strange looking belt and black net thingies on her arms. Other then that, she is ready to go.

This is the magic moment, when a soap bubble full of smoke, explodes, left behind only a sphere of smoke.

This image was taken in Belgium, and the pyrotechnics by courtesy of a Spanish group, music and fireworks amongst the people, never seen anything like it!

Keep safe, and have a great day, Magda, (*_*)

Just adding this note for those interested in the techie stuff; this was taken on my Nikon F4, on 400asa film

I am such an impulsive/intuitive photographer and after all the years, I do things by 'feel', like driving a car, you know what I mean, but I'll try. I'd say f 4.5, 1/30 of second. Of course on a tripod and with cable release. I was way behind the crowd on a small hill, with a long lens probably between 200/250.

The result also depends on the film and sensitivity.

Photographic film is a sheet of plastic (cellulose acetate) coated with an emulsion containing light-sensitive silver halide salts (bonded by gelatine) with variable crystal sizes that determine the sensitivity and resolution of the film.

Colour film uses at least 3 layers, I now use film with 4.

Dyes added to the silver salts make the crystals sensitive to different colours. During development, the silver salts are converted to metallic silver, as with black and white film. The by-products of this reaction form coloured dyes. The silver is converted back to silver salts in the bleach step of development. It is removed from the film in the fix step.

Hope that helps and enjoy, Magda, (*_*)
