I took a close-up picture of a hosta bloom in my garden. I was captivated by its delicate beauty. The gentle lavender petals and intricate stamens stood out against the blurred background, highlighting the flower's graceful appearance. While hostas are mainly known for their lush foliage, their blooms are often overlooked despite adding a subtle charm to any garden. I captured this shot in the early morning light, which added a touch of magic to the scene, showcasing the bloom's intricate details.

Last week I was shooting "buttons," for a macro group theme, and narrowed my potential images down to two. This is the one that didn't make my cut - but I thought I would let it join one of my albums out here on Flickr, showcasing regular old macro's.

Coenagrionidae or are a family of damselflies, also known as pond damselfies, in the order Odonata and the suborder Zygoptera. The Zygoptera are the damselflies, which although less known than the dragonflies, are no less common. More than 1,300 species are in this family, making it the largest damselfly family.

* I popped this little jar in my light box, and used natural light from my north facing window. It may look rather artsy - but It was not manipulated in any way - just cropped to fit the three by three inch dimensions called for. HMM!

A pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist (batik) method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.

This one inch pinecone is actually attached to a very dry log that my husband was about to toss in the wood stove. I rescued it and took it to my photography studio because it looked so interesting. The entire image measures just two inches wide, and even less vertically.

This rotting and gross "Scaly Hedgehog Mushroom" looked like the perfect specimen for Macro Mondays theme; "Decay". The stem on the underside was covered in tiny microscopic bugs and one fat maggot. I think I went above and beyond this week, just to participate - it was soooo yukky.
