I went into the garden as the sun was going down to try and get a half-decent shot of some of our lavender and I saw this tiny little fella perched on top of some lavender looking towards the very last of the evening sun. The yellowy background is some yellow flowers which are on their last legs.
I spotted this teeny weeny butterfly attached to a grass seed head in the garden and couldn't resist trying to get a shot of it. I've looked it up online and I think I can identify it as a 'Brown Argus'

straight from the camera...
I don't know if the shot is good enough because of my eyes, but I hope it's ok.

I assumed that since we're in California and the temps are still warm, the days are still sunny and it doesn't feel at all like Fall yet, that the leaves wouldn't change color & drop. But Mother Nature will not be fooled by micro-climates...and over the last few weeks the colors & signs of Autumn have started to appear. :)
Thank you all for your feedback & favs!

“Rain hangs about the place, like a friendly ghost. if it's not coming down in delicate droplets, then it's in buckets; and if neither, it tends to lurk suspiciously in the atmosphere.”

Macro Mondays, themed crack, no human parts,
This photo show a very small part of the surface of a leather vaulting buck. The vaulting buck was exposed to the weather, on a balcony and not very well cared for, when I bought it.
Therefore, especially at the edges, the leather has many cracks, and partly broken out of the upper port of the leather. Cracks of different sizes, length, shape and form depending of the usage and the exposure to sun and rain.
As for the size, the longest parts shown are shorter than 60 mmm, to many pictures and no ruler.
Another image of nature's Magnificent insects, the wonderful and beautifully colored Ladybug, which I wanted to share with all my Flickr Friends to enjoy on this day.

Mr Boredom was knocking on my door earlier so to make him go away I decided to try and get a half-decent macro of one of the anemones I bought on Tuesday....et voila! 😃
I have been out this evening so it is some from the archives. I love this display of bouganvillea that my neighbour has in his garden. It grows so beautifully and looks stunning hanging over the side fence of his house.

These are honeysuckle berries that fell on moss. The bushes are full of these berries and the birds are eating them like crazy!! I did not add color to this, they are this bright red!! Have a great week dear friends!
A macro of the petals of a ranunculus flower. I got extra close using an extension tube. I shone the light from my phone onto the flowerhead to get the shadows
I was messing around this morning with the rather strange combination of a red feather and a cactus plant using my macro lens with a full set of extension tubes attached - this is one of the results
We planted more poppy seeds earlier in Spring and combined with the poppies we usually get in early May, this year's crop is a beautiful sight to behold!
