Scrubbing The Foliage In His Own Way -
Every insect has their function in the jungle, whatever role they play I love them for who they are. Along a row of foliage, a short-sighted fly pacing on a leaf caught my eyes. The blue mosaic made him outstanding and his action reminds me of a robot vacuum performing an odious chore. Nature certainly has an excellent team of cleaners, the wind is a strong broom that sweeps away the debris and fine sanitizing task is taken over by critters. Instead of using a floor mop, this fly shows great humility sponging with his mouth.

A day in Clumber Park, what a great place for macro, I met a massive hornet for the first time and while I tried to dare and get close to take a few pic's, his friend another massive hornet sneaked into my coat, lucky I was able to scream loud enough to scare him away. ;))))
Dozing off in style this #DaddyLongLeg #spider was the just-right subject for #macrophotography sans costly #macro #lens in Tungareshwar #wildlife reserve.
Gifted with long slender legs and a lean body, they violently shake the web when disturbed to blur the vision of predator.
The Count Of The Carpathian Mountains -
Brown, black, yellow is the norm color for assassin bugs so I was thrilled to catch one in fire engine red. The rousing dye pulled me towards him but I remind myself to keep a distance from his sickle fang. While I understand his urgent cravings for involuntary donators, I’m not ready to offer him my neck. The wind gave a lift and he took flight with bat wings. I shouted after him, “Why are you in such a hurry to go? Won’t you stay and let me admire you some more? He answered in haste, “To the hospital blood unit, my color is fading and I need to withdraw a pint for this evening. Blood Moon rising tonight, you ought to paint your lips a blazing red too.”
A Jolly Capsid -
In a failed effort to escape from my photographic pursuit, this miridae lands on a misshapen leaf. Look at the stained art patterns on his glass wings. Can’t you see the greenish abdomen beneath? This elongated terrestrial insect feeds on juicy plant tissues. The gardener complains about the damage on their ornamental plants, I don’t. I’m a bug tracker, so I compliment on the aesthetic quality of the capsid bug instead.
Gently, Softly And Sweetly -
In the lush fauna I saw a succulent sea cucumber with three blue-lined imprints, the colors are artful and grab my attention. Reeling and gliding on the tender shoots of a tree, my eyes followed him with great curiosity. A graceful nudibranch with no spinal cord, the impact he left on me was of watercolor memories.
Obnoxious Night Crawler -
At least triple in size than domestic roaches, this robust looking brunette was spotted snoozing on low foliage. Clad in auburn raiment, she blends well on leaf litter and camouflage in tree hollows. Bat poo, fruits, seeds, dead insets, rotting wood, the menu options in the forest is huge and varied; no wonder she grows to such monstrous size.
Just ask around. It's a known fact that they do. And this fly is happy to demonstrate just how hairy a fly tongue can get if you drink lots of strong coffee.
Drunken Stupor -
One adventurous butterfly arrived at a puddling scene and another joined in the wet soil. High on amino acids and salt, the pair is not conscious of danger approaching. Until my shadow was cast entirely over, they realized and flee. Abandoning their sweet spot for a while, they returned as soon as I leave.

Wanderlust -
Incy wincy left his web temporarily to have a taste of freedom and hammocked on low vegetation. I’m struck by his tapering latitudes across his sun kissed tummy, they look pretty. How good it is to roam the world and not need anyone’s approval to be happy. If a spider is tired of his midair stance, he can fall anytime on land and watch busy ants go by. Envision sleeping under the stars and rising with the sun, kissing shy mimosas good morning. I quickly jump to conclusions, a spider’s life is stress-free and better than mine.
This spider was a pain to capture, although it may not be as sharp as I wanted it to be, I was experimenting with my new lens.
Rodeo On A Leafy Trail -
Rising like a mount hill and lowering to a flat plain, my galloping gait is often hot topic among caterpillars. They find my movements peculiarly clumsy but what do snobbish caterpillars know? As long as you reach your destination safely, who cares if you walk a straight line or loop in circles like me? In the face of danger, I don’t become soft but hardened up to give a salute. Once my threat is over, I loosen again and keep going.
Triggerfish Dorsal Spine -
On a blade of elephant grass they spend their honeymoon and were in blissful union while I stood guard. What I find interesting about these bugs are the sharp spur on their backs, giving the appearance of strapping an orange jacket with quill. I reckon the spine aids a little in protecting against predators, gobbling a thorn is not so pleasant after all. If you can't fly fast enough, you better run. If you can’t run fast, then it's good to carry a trusty sword for self-defence.
Saltamontes narigudo.
