This photo was taken at the San Diego Zoo Safari new opened Butterflies Jungle. I used my new Nikon 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 lens instead of a Macro lens because I didn't expect that they would have something to shoot by using Macro lens. Surprisingly, it came out okay sharpness. I feel so lucky.
Macro photograph of a Charaxes brutus (White-barred) African Butterfly. This was taken at Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids Mi.
Had to be quick, because he didn't stay put too long after. Taken at a butterfly sanctuary in Key West.
Yesterday, I've been searching for some nice moths to shoot but didn't find any, this morning this beauty was sitting next to my front door. I love moths (and hate the word 'moths', which IMHO doesn't do right to this beautiful and diverse 'night-butterflies' species).
Taken hand held, slightly enhanced in Aviary
