A large bumble bee busily collects his pollen harvest.

The garden here is so full of bees buzzing and flitting, that taking a macro shot of one was the best thing to do...on this otherwise very quiet day here in the country!

Beautiful bee, busily working away.

If you look closely you can see her tube-like tongue (proboseis) inside the water droplet. This classy gal likes her drinks on the sweet side.

I love photographing bees since they are so important to us and our food source.

A quiet evening, a blooming flower, and one hardworking bee. Sometimes the world’s beauty hides in the smallest, most unnoticed moments, until we choose to look closer.

Come le stelle da lontano sembrano tutte dei puntini bianchi, così gli insetti sembrano tutti dei pallini neri... ma invece.......................

Honey bees drinking nectar from a Passion Flower.

No, it's not an iEquipment shot although I am totally amazed at what the iGuys do.

It's a bee inside an Alberta Wild Rose like flower. Which brings me to today's ramble.

Alberta's license plates have sported the "Wild Rose Country" logo for eons. Now, however, that we have a Wildrose party (ultra conservative in mho), the Progressive Conservatives (Progressive might be kind of an overstatement) currently in power also for eons have decided in their wisdom to remove this logo from the license plates because it's kind of like free advertisement for this party at government expense. The three design options provided for us to vote on are actually not too bad, personally I would prefer a combination between options 1 and 2 (view the first comment below for the options and the original).

So, dear Mr. Government, please don't change the logo. I am pretty sure that the existence of this on the plates will not affect peoples' voting preferences.

Sorry, had to get this off my chest.

A nice opportunity to take maximum closeup photo. I used a reverse lens mount adapter on my 35mm AIS lens along with an extension tube. The photo is approx. 80% of the full frame.

This photo of a bee hovering around an onion flower is one of the first images I was ever truly proud of. I love the composition and vibrant colours. This image is the one that got me interested in photography and made me wonder if I could ever make it as a photographer. Bees are quite elegant and graceful when you take the time to observe their behaviour. I am very lucky to have many of them in my garden so there is never any shortage of them for when I need a good subject matter.
