This picture is taken with automatic macro extension tube (65mm) and Voigtlander macro apo lanthar lens

I found this spider in the garden shed. The picture was created from a focus stack of 74 photos taken with a Schneider f2.8 40mm APO lens reverse mounted and using a flash.

This giant insect is a tarantula spider predator. These wasps search out tarantulas in their nests and puncture them with their beaks and paralyze them and then lay their eggs in them while they are still alive.

Adorable jumping spider posed for me.

A juvenile wolf spider caught in the act of changing his skin. I like the way you can still see his beady eyes on the old bit of cuticle from the top of his cephalothorax

The St Andrews Cross Spider (Argiope keyserlingi) is a common species of orb-web spider found on the east coast of Australia. The white zig zag pattern in the web is known as web decorations or stabilimenta.

The grainyness here is caused by stacking pictures of unequal brightness. It can be avoided but it already takes me a pretty long time to boil a couple hundred shots down into 2 or 3 good stacks and for now I've decided I can live with grainy backgrounds.

Have a look at the bumhole. ha ha.

Found this "little" guy in the garage this morning. I took a picture just so I could see if it was a black widow. Nope, apparently not!

 

(and I didn't kill him - he's probably still there in the garage between the trash cans)

How brave am I taking a photo of this monster! It was about 4 mm long so even I felt almost comfortable... almost.
