Then the litte critter emerged. An aphid? Anyway, it's so hard managing focus and light. I could not pick between this one and the prior as my best focused shot. Going to spend more time working on these types of shots as summer is short :). This is also my photo of the day submission. Nice head sculpt, but mine seems to have a slightly sloppy paint app and some plastic flash. Not as noticeble in real life as it is with "macro magic"!

This tiny snails shell is about the size of my wedding ring.

Macro magic with my new 40D

  

I took this shot years ago (two cameras ago) when I used to have a macro lens. I remember lying on the grass to take it. Maybe it's time for a new macro.

Update 5th April 2025. I have just learned that this mushroom is called Fly agaric and that it is poisonous. Please do not eat it.
