My first this year in my garden!

Something so prehistoric looking about these guys.

Down by the river.

Windy conditions - hence the mad antennae in the 2 supplementary images

I couldn't resist this gorgeous little ladybug.

A very strange looking insect that I found - had to take a photo!

This is an spider that I spotted today in my bacyard when I was taking the trash out. Never seen one like it (I'm no spider expert either). I snapped my 50 mm lens with one close up +10 dioptre and move the flash, Canon 430 EX II to camera left and down, with a diffuser, sync'd wirelessly at 1/250 f 9.0 iso 200. Everything was handheld, which made focusing hard, since the spiderweb moving back and forth non stop. Canon 7D with battery pack, pretty heavy after little while with one hand

Any one knows what kind of spider or insect this is?

Silver-ground carpet - Ryton Meadows, Warwickshire 05/06/2021

Spined Soldier Bug (Podisus Maculiventris), a variety of stink bug. Identifiable by the outward pointing spines near the top. Unlike the more well known Brown Marmorated Stink Bug that's an invasive pest, the Soldier Bug is beneficial and eats several common garden pests. On the lower right is a Turks Cap flower.

Green fly - Was not getting any bug to photograph on this particular day and was unhappy... Then saw this little creature... on the leaf. Above my head's height. Stretched my tripod and kept elbow on it and tried to shoot.. Leaf was moving due to slight wind... but got a manageable shot.. The bug looked too good through the lens :-) Hope you enjoyed the shot... Kenko extension tubes + 100mm macro lens .
