Nice camouflage in such an environment. But I've always got an eye on the insects! I was in a hurry because my mom was afraid to get lost, otherwise I would've remembered to use the flash! :D
This is actually a silverfish. I never thought they were particularly interesting, but up close... almost(!) pretty. The immediate ancestor of silverfish is around 400 Million years old - making them one of the oldest animals on the planet. They can live for about 8 years. Longer than some dogs. So ponder that before you squish. I didn't know they had scales till I looked close. They serve the same purpose as scales on a butterfly wing. They help them escape from predators by making them slippery since the scales shed when anything grabs on (like a spider web). 4.5x magnification. Mitutoyo 2.5 QV on ED Nikkor 180mm. 400 shots in Zerene Stacker. Too many.
Open any hive and look between the frames and this is what you see, rows of bees : )
Have a great day/evening
Not sure of the species of this insect. This pair were spending a long time staring at each other, and occasionally moving their front legs. The antenna of the one on the left was attached to its partner.

Have you ever watched ants busy gathering juices of peony buds? I have.. For a couples of days actually, I have spent some time watching them fight over drops of juice and busily crawling all over my peony. Both days quite windy and it was a challenge to take macro shots, but I have managed to get a few good ones (I hope) despite constantly changing light and wind moving my subjects and them moving all the time...
