Recently visited Oldmoor Wood, Nottinghamshire. Oldmoor Wood is a woodland in Nottinghamshire, near the village of Strelley. It covers a total area of 15.11 hectares. It is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust.
I went primarily for the beautiful Bluebells. There is a mix of Native and Spanish Bluebells.
Native Bluebells are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.
How to tell the difference.
English Bluebells: Flowers on one side of the stem.
Spanish Bluebells: Flowers all around the stem.

Looks like they're having a big fight....Actually, they just greeted each other and went on their separate ways...nobody's hurt here:)
Thanks for your visits and continued support!

A macro capture of a giant flower head from a clematis plant (The First Lady) I recently purchased to accent a privacy panel on the back deck.
I’ve always admired these vines but for whatever reason never purchased one until recently ...so glad I did as they are beautiful and make great subject matter for honing my photography skills...perhaps I’ll try a focus stack for the first time. Hmmmm....

A tender macro capture of an Allium bud just beginning to emerge from its protective sheath, revealing a cluster of deep purple florets. The soft background enhances the intimacy of this quiet moment of botanical awakening.
From Camera to Flickr. No post editing (Apart from the file name of course). This was about 45 minutes before the sunset. A calm atmosphere, the sound of a few distant birds. I think this is Old Man's Beard (Clematis Vitalba). So delicate, soft and swaying in a light breeze.

"Never be afraid to be a poppy in a field of daffodils."
This lonely poppy caught my eye on the side of a brown dusty field. I really am loving my Sigma lens, it is proving to be so versatile. However, I am thinking about getting another camer body for my macro lens...I really don't want to be faffing with changing lenses whilst I'm out and about.
Does anyone take out two camera bodies with them when they go on a general walkaround? Is it practical? Any downfalls?

Macro capture of a Shiny Object .
A quick caveat - while the Spitfire gets all the glory , we must not forget the under rated Hawker Hurricane which was so successful during the Battle of Britain !!
So to start with a random shot of the sky before it went all to cloud and then to the pop up oven top kitchen studio with a new keyring I have been given ( could have done for "new " last week , so glad I saved it ) . The keyring was bought from the RAF Hendon Museum online store and it is of a Spitfire . The capture of the little Spitfire was done with the Sigma 105 , and for a size comparison see the first comment box -knowing how the 105 makes avery short DOF when up close , Ihad to stop down a fair old way to keep the aeroplane in a sharp view .
I took 8 or 9 shots paying special attention to angles to create a realistic air to air style of capture. Next I put them though the cut out studio in Serif CraftArist - good job I had a selection as the cut out could not define the outline of the aircraft very well in most of them and kept taking chunks out of the plane - sorted with this one and put the two shots together for the flight of the silver spitfire . this now captures the the feeling of being up there and the sky is the limit and you are free as a bird - the pilots of the day often say " You do not get into a Spitfire , you just strap it on !! "
And the Silver Spitfire in 2019 is a story on it's own , please check out the story in the link ---------------

And in this vein of up there in the skies with the Merlin singing it's song , this tune should should be heard on the airwaves !!
Dandelions. Very common weed that adorns urban areas, gardens, fields and just about anywhere. Whatever you think of it, its various stages of transition are magical from a photographic perspective.
Dandelions may be considered a nuisance in parts of the garden, especially in weed-free lawns but have many herbal uses and are a good early source of nectar and pollen for insects so worth tolerating where possible.
Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, which consists of species commonly known as Dandelions.

A Cathedral of Moss
Step into the magnificent, miniature world atop the weathered church wall. Here, fallen leaves are vast landscapes, and strands of spider silk become delicate bridges connecting the forest of sporophytes. The intense emerald green of the moss, topped by the beautiful bronze-gold capsules, transforms the ancient surface into a rich, living tapestry, invisible to all but the closest observer.
Taken with my Nikon D850 and Nikon 2.8/105mm lens.
From my garden, Ferns to Flickr. They are steadily unfolding and now's the perfect time to get some macro shots.
Fern: Polypodiopsida, Polypodiophyta

Yes. On January 1 2020 the skies really did this. The sun was delivering a pretty normal desert sunset. And then I looked behind me. The boring wispy clouds were beginning to glow like nothing from this planet. I grabbed one of my GW690s loaded with Velvia and had the whole roll gone in about two minutes. Then I grabbed the same Sony digital I use to digitize my film with and kept shooting until the light show was done.
Metadata below is from my NegativeLabPro LR plug in. If you digitize film with a digital camera, you need this plugin! This is transparency film but what NLP does for color and BW negatives is nothing short of miraculous. Negative Supply film transports are also great, taming this curly Fuji stock into a nice flat image for macro capture.

See large size. Two rejected slides were mounted in the same frame and then a macro capture was made. One is a macro of wood, and the other are 2 old buddies from my 1971 Kibbutz, Gesher Haziv in northern Israel.
