I loved experimenting on this rainy morning. This micro lens using manual focus can get quite close to create tiny macro captures under the cyclamen forest.
Still not sure where I’m headed with these nearsighted closeups. We shall see...
Thanks for looking!

From the 2019 photo archives...a macro capture of a Narcissus - Tommy's white... so beautiful...looking forward to capturing more of these beauties in the coming weeks.
This bright white narcissus has a vivid green-yellow shallow depth cup with a bright reddish-orange rim.
The ferns in my garden are steadily unfolding. Now's the perfect time to capture some macro shots.

Camera data updated!!!
A very warm walk around Warnham Nature Reserve yesterday, there weren't many birds brave enough to venture out into the heat so out came the macro lens!

I bought some new flowers today at my local florist, including a bouquet of Nigella damascena. Took lots of shots with different lenses for different looks/views. Here is a macro capture and I used JP Flypaper "Verdigris Mist" texture here.
For more information on this lovely and interesting flower, check out link on Wikipedia or more specifically for this variety on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigella_damascena

Macro capture of Turkeytail mushroom and moss on Garry oak tree branch in late February.
Garry oak ecosystems range from shady woodlands to open meadows with scattered trees which support many life forms including moss, lichens and fungi. Under the shelter of oak canopies or in meadows, spring wildflowers, grasses, mosses, and a variety of shrubs flourish.

Macro capture of a Shiny Object .
A quick caveat - while the Spitfire gets all the glory , we must not forget the under rated Hawker Hurricane which was so successful during the Battle of Britain !!
So to start with a random shot of the sky before it went all to cloud and then to the pop up oven top kitchen studio with a new keyring I have been given ( could have done for "new " last week , so glad I saved it ) . The keyring was bought from the RAF Hendon Museum online store and it is of a Spitfire . The capture of the little Spitfire was done with the Sigma 105 , and for a size comparison see the first comment box -knowing how the 105 makes avery short DOF when up close , Ihad to stop down a fair old way to keep the aeroplane in a sharp view .
I took 8 or 9 shots paying special attention to angles to create a realistic air to air style of capture. Next I put them though the cut out studio in Serif CraftArist - good job I had a selection as the cut out could not define the outline of the aircraft very well in most of them and kept taking chunks out of the plane - sorted with this one and put the two shots together for the flight of the silver spitfire . this now captures the the feeling of being up there and the sky is the limit and you are free as a bird - the pilots of the day often say " You do not get into a Spitfire , you just strap it on !! "
And the Silver Spitfire in 2019 is a story on it's own , please check out the story in the link ---------------

And in this vein of up there in the skies with the Merlin singing it's song , this tune should should be heard on the airwaves !!
A macro capture of a giant flower head from a clematis plant (The First Lady) I recently purchased to accent a privacy panel on the back deck.
I’ve always admired these vines but for whatever reason never purchased one until recently ...so glad I did as they are beautiful and make great subject matter for honing my photography skills...perhaps I’ll try a focus stack for the first time. Hmmmm....

A tender macro capture of an Allium bud just beginning to emerge from its protective sheath, revealing a cluster of deep purple florets. The soft background enhances the intimacy of this quiet moment of botanical awakening.
From Camera to Flickr. No post editing (Apart from the file name of course). This was about 45 minutes before the sunset. A calm atmosphere, the sound of a few distant birds. I think this is Old Man's Beard (Clematis Vitalba). So delicate, soft and swaying in a light breeze.
