after seeing Ali Edwards' weekend creative challenge a few weekends ago, i knew i HAD to have this punch!

This comma butterfly landed and posed on the end of the arm of a sun chair daring me to photograph it so i did. I love the patterns/textures on the underside of the wings

Awful composition on this but it's a slight panorama taken by stitiching another half of a shot onto the first one to get the rear end in.

An uncommon common blue female butterfly on the neighbour's lawn. Seems to have a mite for company. Focus stacked using zerene - natural light

I watch this butterfly come out of its cocoon, unwrap it's wings and fly away - in only one hour!

He's at the butterfly bush every day for the past couple weeks.

Butterflies at the excellent Butterfly and Insect Centre on the island of Sentosa off Singapore.

Spring is in the air ? The first butterfly found on a house plant. It must have just emerged as it was drying its wings.

This will be a vibrant purple in a few days. Had 3/4" of rain yesterday (very unusual) and now bright and sunny today.
