Der Kleine Feuerfalter (Lycaena phlaeas) ist ein Schmetterling (Tagfalter) aus der Familie der Bläulinge (Lycaenidae).

Speckled wood butterfly. Managed to attract it onto a flower with some drops of honey/sugar syrup. Focus stacked using zerene.

Our local naturalists group, Upper Credit Field Naturalists, found fifteen species of butterfly this morning! (It should go without saying that all were released unharmed, and that our results will be recorded in the Ontario Butterfly Atlas. The area we were in has had zero species reported so far.)

A butterfly looks at me with curiosity in its eyes.

Found this holly blue butterfly sheltering in a rhododendron bush too cold to fly off. Let it walk onto my finger to warm up a bit and then placed it in a sunnier position on a camellia flower. Later it moved down onto a leaf. Natural light.
