I first spotted them on the banana leaf and by the time I got my camera, they had flown to the chain link fence. The one at the bottom was very still, but alive. I guess it had to be careful. XD

Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly seen in Seven Acre Park Alnwickhill. The warm weather is bringing the butterflies out.

really pleased to photograph this , I have been seeing uploads by other members and wished we had them in Suffolk as I had never seen one

I think this is an Admiral.....they sit on the plants around the house posing this time of year.

This little butterfly was the size of my fingernail! Extremely tiny. It was still fairly cold when I took this photo, so he wasn't moving around much. It gave me the opportunity to get closer.
