This is our 5th Dainty Swallowtail to eclose this year :-) Our kids called this one "Twilight"

I had the opportunity to visit Monarch Butterfly Festival 2011 in Navarre, Florida last weekend. The weather was so beautiful. I have taken few different butterfly shots which I will be posting them soon.

Till then.....enjoy this beautiful lady.

 

Note: This is NOT a blue looking butterfly even some bluish color on the wings. I have changed the white balance to get the overall blue effects. :-)

Surprised how well the 12-32 worked, and how even f/5.6 provided some nice background separation.

The Lesser Spotted Fritillary (Melitaea trivia) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in the southern part of the Palearctic ecozone. In Europe it is sometimes called "desert fritillary", but this name more accurately refers to the North African relative M. deserticola.The wingspan is 15–23 mm.
