Macro Mondays Redux 2018

March 5: Citrus

Happy New Year!!!

Spotted this little fellow in my garden earlier today so I couldn't resist pointing a macro lens at him. Ants are quite difficult to photograph for two very obvious reasons. The first is that they are very small, and the second is that they are busy little creatures which are constantly on the move. With that in mind, I was quite pleased with the result. Hope you like it.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all!

My Xplor

Snow then freezing rain today around Baltimore, Maryland. Went out in the cold falling rain and ice for some fun with the macro lens. Challenging elements, but fun nonetheless. Sure that the neighbors if they saw me were just shaking their heads :)

This is a part of a flower and made this in the room (before the window) using the light from outside.

This week is a liquorice spiral from my bag of all sorts. Happy Macro Mondays.

A couple of tiny jubilee clips, hard to capture the scale, I can't even get my pinky inside one.

When I was a kid I had a microscope/binocular in the basement of my house and I would look at insects. I was always caught between fascination, awe and pure fear. Especially when they started moving unexpectedly under the binocular. I’m trying to recreate this feeling in these photos but I’m still struggling with macro techniques.
