As far as I know this is a leech but would be interested in any different opinion as to its identification (see below). It is shown 'attached' to the rim of my hat.
Edit: It has now been identified as an 'inchworm', the caterpillar of a geometer moth.
Small fly on grass stem admiring a dewdrop. Taken at 3:1 uncropped not stacked.
Quite frequently see these little grass flies when I'm doing dewdrop refraction shots
These are from my Rhode Island Teacher's certificate which was earned by being an undergraduate for 4 years at Rhode Island College studying Education, followed by another 4 or 5 years of post graduate work for a master's degree in my field of education. At that time (post grad) I was teaching and raising two small children. This certificate represents blood, sweat and lots of tears and tiredness. But look! It says '"valid for LIFE", hooray! And it was so worth it all...I loved, and still love...teaching!
And, it gave me certification to wield that red pen!!!!

First honey bee of 2014. Feeding on some sugar/honey syrup on a camellia leaf. Yes that's my finger underneath.
Tip: Watch it large. The texture in the leaf is beautiful.

This is an inch-size local grass I found while walking near a river in Singapore. I don't know what type of plant/grass this is.
I wish i could explain how my joy knew no bounds after clicking these pics with the constant fear of a bee which was sitting on the same plant.
