I just dropped a symlink into my "Movies" folder, and Frontrow picked up all of the movies I have stored on my external hard drive. Is very nice. Now I just have to upgrade the ram on my mini and I'm all set.
UPDATE: I've found a better way to do this. I now put all my movies into iTunes (yes it's stupid), and use a program called "Lostify" to categorize the movies as Music Videos, tV Shows or Movies.
UPDATE 2: Lostify only works on mp4s, and even with those it is verry picky. I'm hoping Apple bundles this kind of functionality in the next iTunes, but i kinda doubt it seeing that they're mostly trying to promote their movie download service. Still, it's irritating that i have to manage my video collection in my mp3 player...
Tried Apple's Boot Camp yesterday. In under an hour I could dual boot Windows XP and Mac OS X natively on my Mac mini! Spooky.
After pondering it for 3 weeks, I finally bought a Mac Mini yesterday. I still have to get rid of (=sell) my PC and upgrade the monitor.
This little doodad controls the WiFi in my Mac Mini. If you look closely at the top you'll see golden colored connectors labeled MAIN and AUX. The WiFi antenna is supposed to be connected to MAIN, sadly. Took me a while to suss that one out.
Put the screens on a shelf as it gives me a bit more space on my desk. Also allows me to move the XBOX 360 from my floor to the desk.
One step closer to the ultimate geek paradise. A windows machine (middle top), linux (right), iBook (laptop with the 24 inch wide monitor on the left), and a mac mini (accessed via vnc, far right next to the ipod). Running synergy so all of it is controlled via the keyboard/touchpad on the ibook with a shared clipboard between all of them. Damn thats hot.
I mean, literally.. It's much hotter than before..
