Spots of Gold
This is a macro of a flashlight being shone against the brushed metal of an Apple Mac Mini. It's a cropped version of this photo.
"How did it look?" he asked via Twitter. Well, here it is. This is a shot of the video podcast, "This Week in Space," hosted by Miles O'Brien. It is being played full-screen from iTunes on the attached Mac Mini.

Screenshot of Flock web browser running on Mac Mini. The customize toolbar window is displaying with the "small icons" option selected. Two errors/bugs occur; 1) the customize toolbar window moves up 2) the actual icons dont display as expected.
Lambo Eater....What a BIG day at the Dyno! I am more than happy with the result. In another 2 months or so I will tune for race gas or E85. I should hit the 9XX Plus range with no problem. What you see here are the last 3 run's. Enjoy!

Taken for Macro Mondays, this weeks theme: Crime. CableCos are criminals. Would like to ditch and just stick with a 50MB connection to the net, but Kristin isn't down with the media center MacMini and antenna. *side note: this bill is from last year, it has since gone up (went paperless)
I recently acquired a Late 2006 Mac Mini for $200, a pretty good price. Unfortunately, it was a Core Duo model, under the requirement cutoff for 10.7 Lion. I managed to salvage a Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz processor from a dead 2006 iMac (bad GPU), and decided to undergo a processor transplant.
The processor on the Mini is a socketable processor, so upgrading was decenty easy. Once the new processor was in, the hard part began: installing Lion.
I installed Lion to an external drive plugged into my 2010 MacBook Pro (supported Lion machine), updated to 10.7.2, deleted the file /System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist, then used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external drive over to the Mini's internal drive. The Mini will boot from the Lion external drive with no problems. After cloning, the Mini was able to boot from the internal drive running Lion!
No, iPhoto. You're wrong; badly wrong / that's a bridge, not a bloody face. Don't arsing-well fuck with my head, you annoying piece of cock.
This is what happened when I loaded the AppleTV OS onto a partition on my Mac mini.
Here's what I had to do to get this:
1) hold down option for the bootloader
2) pick the "OSBoot" partition
3) hold apple-v to induce verbose mode
4) while the EFI is loading (the driver loading screen ), unplug the keyboard
5) wait, and watch.
I think there's some more work to be done.
Finalizando la migración de los datos de mi viejo Mac Mini G4 al flamante herededero, un Mini con i7.
This is a Apple Mac Mini G4 barebone computer without top case. It's very quiet and seems to be a good choice for pepole who want cheap, but powerful (PowerPC G4 ;) workstation.
This is an improvement of my previous G4 mini cube holder.
I used tips and techniques the I picked up at Spikenzie Lab's Laser How-To
They have a mini-cuts service that I would try out if I didn't have my own laser cutter.

This is the state of my desk at the start of January 2008. You can see my laptop, my computer ( or rather, my monitor -- the computer tower is just off to the left ), my TV and XBox 360, as well as the Mac Mini that I was working on for the Science World in Edmonton.
I was able to get a pretty cheap 17" Samsung SyncMaster 740N for just £40 so I decided to hook it up to my Mac Mini for when my Macbook is at the shop for repairs or for when my mother comes over next week.
Last night on the way to bed I heard this really nasty sound coming from the server room (aka the room you sleep in if you visit). 'Twas the computer's HDD grinding it's last death song. I figured there was really nothing I could do at that point so I just powered down the whole system.
This morning I went to the local computer/electronic store [cough]Fry's[/cough] but they didn't carry the older PATA 2.5" HDD so I ended up going to my favorite place online Newegg :D
So a new drive is in transit. Until it gets here all the TV's are basically off since all the media is stored on the various HDDs attached to the server. Good thing the only thing on that damaged drive is the OS and a quick Time Machine restore should bring everything back to working order.
Now where did I put my Boxee nfo...

I had my Mac mini G4 apart this evening and realized that I didn't have this three-quarters front view of the unit. Shot with two off-camera SB-600 strobes triggered by the on-camera flash. Here are my three-quarters rear and rear shots of the mini.
My new Intel Mac Mini, which replaces my old G4 Mac Mini and my old Windows PC. Also, big-ass Sun monitor. Was going to connect it to a much smaller LCD panel, but I decided I wanted the big screen, high resolution, and surface area that the Sun gave me.
