This is a merger of seven separate images showing the angle of attack as the aircraft approaches a narrow pass known as Cad East/Cad West, the Mach Loop, in the Snowdonia National Park, Wales.
A shot from some time ago of the Qinetiq Alpha jet passing Cad West. There were some real enthusiasts there that day that were delighted to see this. Being a bit more shallow I just wanted F-15's - still a nice plane to see.
F15 of the USAF powers around the welsh hills, leaving an impressive trail of heat haze behind!

My first time in the Mach loop in a while produced a lot of luck. The first time I’ve seen an aircraft the size of the mighty a400 atlas down to 250ft through a rather tight valley. Such an incredible Experience.
Taken in an area known by aircrew and photographers as The Mach Loop, Snowdonia National Park, Wales.
Wow wasn't expecting this to be Explored so a Huge thanks to all who have faved and commented. The shot is of an RAF Tornado. It was taken in the Mach Loop in Wales yesterday afternoon. The Mach Loop is a low level training area for the RAF and USAF. Its an amazing place to go to see some amazing flying by some awesome pilots. You can spend many hours on the mountains just looking at the views and have no activity at all but then when you get passes like we had yesterday its well worth the wait.
